Machete was a race war fantasy slasher dreamed up by Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez. The movie featured illegal aliens killing white villains modeled after the TEA Party.

Machette 2 features a star studded cast including Lady Gaga, Charlie Sheen (who is listed on the credits as his Latino birth name), and Mel Gibson. The villain is Mel Gibson who portrays an evil white billionaire fomenting revolutions in central America so he can sell guns. The media claimed that Gibson could revive his Hollywood career by playing villains.

The movie had a $20 million dollar production budget and an unknown advertising budget.

The film opened on October 11th in 2,538. It was dropped from most theaters within the first two weeks. One month later it has completely disappeared from theaters with a gross of less than $8 million. Approximately half the gross goes to the movie makers. So the total revenue from theaters is less than one fourth of the production budget.

Machete 2 had nearly twice the budget of the first Machete, but a domestic gross that was less than one third the first one.
