Authorities are searching for a man who was caught on camera robbing an elderly woman at knife point in an elevator in Lauderdale Lakes.
The robbery happened April 29 at the building at 3099 Northwest 48th Avenue, when a man followed the 77-year-old woman onto the elevator and took out a knife, Broward Sheriff’s Office officials said.
He demanded she hand over her purse and she complied. The man turned to leave but walked right into the elevator doors then waited for them to open and fled.
The suspect is described as a black male, about 6-foot-2 with a medium build and short haircut. He used a standard kitchen knife.
A reward of up to $3,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest. Anyone with info is asked to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
