A teenager charged with murdering a Papa John’s employee during a robbery will be charged as an adult.
Darious Fitzpatrick was 17 when police said he shot and killed 22-year-old Gordon Schaffer during a robbery at a Papa John’s location in Columbia.
Police said Schaffer complied with all of the robber’s demands but was shot anyway.
Fitzpatrick’s transfer to adult court means he can face tougher punishment if convicted of the crime.
