An 18-year-old was arrested Sunday for a Sept. 5 convenience store robbery, and the battery and shooting of the store’s clerk.
JaQuan Davis was already in the Marion County lockup on an unrelated crime when officers arrested him. Investigators say it was surveillance video that helped them get the information they needed to make the arrest.
They say Davis went into Obadiah’s Smoke Shop near 38th Street & Georgetown Road last weekend, pulled a gun and punched the clerk several times in the face. After that, police say he took cash from the register and shot the clerk in the leg when she tried to run away.
She is still recovering.
