A 19-year-old was arrested for assaulting a homeless man in Gastonia last week, police say.
Donald Ray Wallace Jr. is accused of hitting 78-year-old Fletcher Harold Campbell in the face with a brick after pushing him down last Monday.
Wallace is charged with attempted first-degree murder.

Campbell was assaulted around 11:15 p.m. near West Garrison Boulevard. He was taken to CaroMont Regional Medical center and later transferred to Carolinas Medical Center for facial surgery.
Wallace is expected to appear in court at 2 p.m. Tuesday.
