The end of your funtimes of pure racial hatred on Reddit have just come to an abrupt end.
Time to head back to /pol/, fags. You never should have left.
Ellen Pao resigned as acting chief executive of Reddit Friday in the latest sign of turmoil at the site, recently roiled by the firing of a popular employee and ongoing tensions over the limits of free speech on its social-news platform.
Reddit co-founder Steve Huffman, also a co-founder of travel site Hipmunk, will become chief executive. Alexis Ohanian, another co-founder who has been working as executive chairman of reddit, will work “alongside” Huffman, said Reddit board head Sam Altman in a statement on Friday.
Controversy erupted around Reddit last week when the company’s director of talent, Victoria Taylor, was dismissed. Site volunteer moderators temporarily shut down around 300 discussion sections in protest.
That controversy did not factor into Pao’s departure, Altman said in an email.
Pao, who battled her former Silicon Valley employer in court earlier this year, said in a separate statement that she was leaving Reddit because the board had asked for higher growth than she thought was possible.
For reasons unknown, Pao was our true champion, an aggressive defender of the rights of racists. But with her gone, it will probably only be a matter of days before all of your racism is gone forever.
Presumably, r/GasTheKikes will be shut down, as well as r/CoonTown. And then they will continue to move through and cleanse all of our Reddit spaces.
Of course, I hope I am wrong. But the pressure was really mounting against Chairman Pao, and I think a big part of why she was forced out was that she was so supportive of free speech in an age where this is a very big no-no.
Hopefully, Pao’s litigious Black husband will help her sue Reddit.
Please consider 8chan as an alternative if all hell does break loose on Reddit.
Note: I am obviously (I hope) being sarcastic when I say Pao was our champion. However, I do think that her being in charge is the only reason that these racist reddits remained active, and I am not joking when I say that most likely a great cleansing is coming.
