The people in the US government, media, and social media who said that invading Russia was a good idea will never be held to account for that.
Americans’ memories are less than 10 minutes long. Right now, no one remembers when the entire media was celebrating the Ukraine invading Kursk and saying it was a brilliant strategy – just like no one remembered that Joe Biden said that sending American tanks to the Ukraine would be “World War III.”
But you remember, dear readers. I said from the start that the Ukraine invasion of Russia was one of the worst military decisions in all of recorded history, and would lead to mass slaughter of Ukraine soldiers, as well as the collapse of their frontline in the Donbass.
That’s exactly what has happened.
But Zelensky is not concerned.
Russia says its forces have recaptured 10 settlements after it launched a counteroffensive in the Kursk region to push out Ukrainian troops who stormed across the border five weeks ago.
With fierce fighting continuing, Russia’s defence ministry listed the names of 10 settlements it said it had retaken, in a significant blow to Kyiv. Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelenskiy, acknowledged a Russian counteroffensive had begun.
It follows Ukraine’s surprise cross-border attack last month into western Russia. Zelenskiy said his armed forces had anticipated Russia’s assault this week and the operation was still going to plan.
A mechanised raid began on Tuesday, according to Russian military bloggers. Russian forces rapidly pushed forward from the village of Korenevo and quickly advanced south into Snagost.
They have regained at least 10 settlements with two more – Krasnooktyabrskoe and Komarovka – reportedly having been captured on Thursday. One objective was to “bisect” Ukraine’s 1,000 sq km salient within Russia, cutting off its western flank, observers posited.
The next step would be “a more organised and well-equipped effort to push Ukrainian forces” out of Russia completely, the Institute for the Study of War thinktank said. It acknowledged the situation was fluid, with the size and scale of the counteroffensive unclear.
Russia’s Kursk advance comes at a time when its troops are making rapid gains in the eastern Donetsk region. They reportedly captured another village on the outskirts of Pokrovsk – a key Ukrainian logistics hub – and were only 8km (5 miles) from the city.
A Russian missile demolished a road bridge connecting Pokrovsk with the neighbouring town of Mrynohrad and the water supply was knocked out. Officials described the situation as very difficult in the area, where thousands of civilians remain despite bombardment.
Donetsk’s regional governor, Vadym Filashkin, said conditions in and around Pokrovsk would not improve. “I again call on you to evacuate!” he posted on the Telegram messaging app.
The reason these gains are so rapid is that the Ukraine pulled its best troops off of the frontline to attack inside of Russia.
It’s just hardly even believable that this actually happened. What could have possibly been the point?
They said that the point was to force Russian troops off of the frontline, but that didn’t happen (they’ve since come up with new explanations for why they did it, none of which make any sense).
Again: worst military decision in history.
The Ukraine is once again out of equipment, after sacrificing such huge amounts of it in Kursk.
Let me translate for the perennially wrong Mr. Axe.

So we’re going to see another huge round of begging from the top Jew.
Even if Kamala “wins” this fake election, it is likely that the US is going to move to deescalate in the Ukraine.
In theory, they could keep it going for another year or whatever. Probably. In fact, even after Russia pushes all the way to the river, there are ways they could keep it going.
But it has just gotten so incredibly expensive, and is such a sink on the military abilities of the West.
With the war with Iran all but inevitable, and an apparent desire to really ratchet up things against China, there is neither the money nor the equipment for this stupid fake war in the Ukraine.
