Two more teens were also arrested, but their identities haven’t been revealed.

But I’m sure they were also… whatever this thing is.

KCRA:

A teenage girl killed in West Sacramento over the weekend was shot in the back, the Yolo County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday.

Officials identified the victim as Samantha J. Farris, 16, of Citrus Heights. The coroner’s office said her death is a homicide.

The deadly shooting happened just after 7:30 p.m. Saturday along the Clarksburg Branch Line Trail behind River City High School, according to the West Sacramento Police Department. The girl’s grandfather said Samantha was running away when she was shot in the back.

“This is senseless. This is the senseless slaughter of a beautiful girl,” grandfather Mark Bentley said Monday. “This is not what Sam was about.”

Officers recovered the gun they believe was used to kill Samantha during what police are calling a marijuana drug deal.

“She was asked to go run an errand. From all accounts, she wasn’t in the drug scene,” Bentley said of his granddaughter.

“She came here with an older friend to make the transaction. When they started counting the money, the money wasn’t right,” he added. “So, Samantha and another girl ran after the boys and said ‘Hey, you shorted us.’ One pulled a gun. The two girls saw the gun and ran. And my granddaughter got three bullets in her back.”

Three teenagers were arrested in connection with Samantha’s death. The teens were arrested in Sacramento and Elk Grove, police said.

The third shooting suspect, 16-year-old Jacob Oehlcke, turned himself in Sunday evening, police said.
