The very essence of Liberalism is the liberation of the individual from all collective identity.
It started with religion and the idea that you could choose first what church and then what religion to follow.
Next was the society, then the nation and eventually it all became optional.
At the moment of their victory over church and nation, they discovered that the sexual identity itself is as well a collective.
You could choose to be Christian, you could choose to be American and now you can choose to be a man or a woman.
So where do we go from here?
