The New York Times recently conducted a poll that shows that no one has any interest in this bizarre “newspeak” agenda they are pushing. The Times chalked this up to people not being informed on what they are supposed to say, and claimed that we need more education to inform people what the banned words are.
In reality, no one asked for this language policing and it doesn’t benefit anyone. The idea that there are all of these oppressed people running around with hurt feelings because someone said “breastfeeding” instead of “chestfeeding” or “master bedroom” instead of “primary bedroom” is nonsensical.
The only real leftists agendas with popular support behind them are ones that relate to women’s sex lives. Obviously women want abortion, and they want to increase their sexual value by flooding the country with immigrants. From there, support goes down rapidly, and when you get to this mind control language type stuff, it is so esoteric that no one even understands what it is.
Still, women will enforce it, because women love enforcing rules, regardless of what they are or if they make any sense. But in order to enforce it, they need to be interested in it enough to be aware of it. Women already have a lot of aspects of society that they police, and though women love getting new rules about how to patrol and enforce the rules, they can’t handle an unlimited amount.
What will happen over the next couple of years is that specific women who read this Times article will go on a crusade over these words, and start imparting to other women that it is time to enforce this new set of rules.
You will then have women like Jessica Bennett, Times Opinion contributing editor, at your back wherever you are enforcing the new language norms.
If you defy her, and say “disabled person” instead of “person with disability,” she might just stab you with her glasses.
