Anyway, the government suing a private company for refusing to hire convicted felons is the funniest thing since the government sued Tesla for refusing to hire illegal immigrants.
The government is so completely out of control, that it’s like a hilarious comedy special.
On Thursday, Biden’s Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) revealed they had filed a lawsuit against the Sheetz convenience store and gas station chain alleging that its hiring practices “disproportionately screened out Black, Native American/Alaska Native and multiracial applicants.” This comes only days after President Joe Biden made a disastrous campaign stop at a Sheetz in Pennsylvania.
In a press release, the EEOC said that the chain’s long-standing practice of using criminal conviction records to screen and deny applicants was a violation of Title VII’s prohibition on “disparate impact discrimination.”
However, the EEOC did not claim that the convenience store chain “was motivated by race when making hiring decisions.”

EEOC Regional Attorney Debra M. Lawrence claimed, “Federal law mandates that employment practices causing a disparate impact because of race or other protected classifications must be shown by the employer to be necessary to ensure the safe and efficient performance of the particular jobs at issue.”

In a statement to the Associated Press, Sheetz spokesman Nick Ruffner said the chain “does not tolerate discrimination of any kind.” He added, “Diversity and inclusion are essential parts of who we are. We take these allegations seriously. We have attempted to work with the EEOC for nearly eight years to find common ground and resolve this dispute.”
What is “liberal democracy” if it forces you to hire black people?
That is really the question here. Once you accept they can force you to hire black people, it follows logically they can force you to hire felons.
It was a principle of liberalism in previous times that the government did not have a right to coerce you into relationships against your will. This was called “free association.” It was in the US Constitution, but was nullified in order to force blacks and women onto everyone.
