Using pyrotechnics near a forest is irresponsible, surely.
But also surely, the government of California should be able to put out a fire before it burns 7,000 acres.
A fire in California that has burned more than 7,000 acres was caused by a “pyrotechnic device used at a gender reveal party”, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection has found.
In a statement released late on Sunday, the department said: “The fire began at 10:23 am on September 5, 2020 in the El Dorado Ranch Park in Yucaipa,” before spreading north.
The agency said the fire was caused by a smoke generating pyrotechnic device, used during “a gender reveal party”. The fire started on Saturday morning.
“With the dry conditions and critical fire weather, it doesn’t take much to start a wildfire. Those responsible for starting fires due to negligence or illegal activity can be held financially and criminally responsible,” the statement said.
The fire has since destroyed 7,050 acres. It has prompted the evacuation of 3,000 residents, CBS reported.
Almost 12,500 firefighters are currently battling 22 major fires across the state, according to Cal Fire. Earlier on Sunday, Cal Fire said nearly 12,500 firefighters were battling 22 major fires in the state.
It’s sad that I thought a “gender reveal party” was some tranny thing.
I looked it up, and it’s actually an announcement of a baby’s SEX.
Apparently, pregnant women have these parties after their first ultrasound, when they learn the gender of the baby.
On some level, this is maybe a nice thing for a pregnant mother. On another level, it’s absurdly decadent. Including pyrotechnics certainly makes it decadent.
Bitch, you had sex, a baby was put inside of you. You didn’t just win the UFC. You’re not a hero.
But yeah, for sure, the inability of California to manage really anything at all is a sign of things to come.
Right now, Californians are wondering if their whole power grid isn’t going to fail.

There are several elements to the California situation. Basically, the former whitopia is now a majority nonwhite, which means that things are not going to function the same. You simply cannot put a bunch of random brown people in charge of the infrastructure of a white civilization and expect it to continue functioning the same way.
Imagine if you took a football team and a university physics department faculty and had them switch places. You wouldn’t expect either group to do very well in the other’s position, would you?
It’s similar to replacing the population of a white state with brown people.
The second major issue is of course the whole coronavirus shutdown. Firstly, you’re making things work much worse, obviously, with all of these shutdowns. Secondly, you’re totally demoralizing the population, making them incapable of properly doing their jobs. (We should remember that systems are run by humans, mostly.)
We’re going to see California-tier failure across the rest of the country soon, but here’s the thing: it will be much worse.
California has extreme wealth, coming out of Silicon Valley and Hollywood, right? Most states do not have that. When they turn brown and blue, there will be no massive injections of cash to keep them afloat.
