Canada’s parliament on Wednesday unanimously passed a motion to take in 10,000 Uyghur refugees who fled China but are now facing pressure to return.
The move builds on a February 2021 move by Canadian lawmakers to label Beijing’s treatment of Uyghurs and other Turkic Muslims in its northwestern Xinjiang territory as genocide.
Rights groups believe at least one million Uyghurs and other mostly Muslim minorities have been incarcerated in internment camps in the region, where China is also accused of forcibly sterilizing women and imposing forced labor.
Tens of thousands have fled.
And according to backbench MP Sameer Zuberi, who sponsored the motion, at least 1,600 have been detained in other countries at China’s behest or forcibly repatriated.
At a news conference Zuberi noted that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his cabinet voted in support of the motion, signaling the government’s “intent to make this happen” even though it is nonbinding.
“It is a clear signal that we do not accept human rights violations against the Uyghur people,” he said, adding that “what is happening to the Uyghurs is unacceptable.”
Mehmet Tohti, executive director of the Uyghur Rights Advocacy Project, told reporters it is a strong message that “will resonate not only in China and in Canada, but around the world.”

It proposes resettling 10,000 Uyghurs in Canada over two years, starting in 2024.
China has defended its Uyghur camps in Xinjiang, saying they are crucial to battling terrorism and providing vocational training to minorities.
But the United States has said China’s repression of Uyghurs amounts to “genocide,” and the United Nations has condemned China’s persecution of Uyghurs and other Turkic Muslims.
This is the top bullshit. It’s dumber even than that weather balloon hoax.
The United States gave full backing to the Chinese after 9/11 when they were fighting terrorism in Xinjiang. The Chinese changed nothing – they always had these de-radicalization camps for extremists – but in 2016, all of a sudden these people all started saying “genocide.”
There is zero evidence of any kind of genocide or killing at all. There is a whole lot of evidence that the people in the camps belong there. In general, the state has a huge population – which is expanding, by the way (another problem with the “genocide” narrative) – and only a small number of people get sent to the camps.
Xinjiang is a happy, normal place.

You can say that is propaganda or whatever – as if CNN is hard truth – but you are still left with the fact that all of these people in Xinjiang are smiling and acting normal, which does not make any sense if there is a genocide happening.
I’ve been to Xinjiang. Everything is totally normal. These claims that there is a secret invisible genocide happening in de-radicalization camps is so stupid that it boggles the mind.
But hey – great reason for Canada to replace even more white people with Moslems.
Also: ISIS was filled with wiggers. If these people are on the run from the Chinese authorities, then at least 95% of them are terrorists. They don’t just target random people in a state with tens of millions of people. Anyone who is on the run is at least associated with some terrorist group.
They will likely do terrorism in Canada.
It’s so goofy that the US was at war with Islam for 20 years and now they’re saying that even arresting a terrorist is pure evil.
They are actually still torturing people at Guantanamo Bay, which there is zero evidence China has done at any of its camps.
This is just as stupid as the Jewish Holocaust, and it’s in fact the exact same thing. There was never any evidence of that, and it wasn’t taken seriously when it was first promoted. 80 years from now, if the US beats China, they will be beating them over the head with this stupid fake genocide, saying it’s why Chinese women have to have sex with the blacks.
