Ted Cruz, who is the ultimate scumbag, just did yet another publicity stunt and got a haircut from the woman who was arrested and sentenced to jail for opening her salon.
Sen. Ted Cruz showed his support Friday for a Dallas hair salon owner after she was jailed for opening in violation of the state’s coronavirus rule — by dropping by for a haircut that led her to shed tears of relief.
“We’re thrilled to be with you and know the whole state of Texas is standing with you, so thank you for your courage,” Cruz told Shelley Luther, who was released Thursday at the order of the state Supreme Court, CBS 11 News reported.
The Republican senator told Luther he hadn’t had a haircut in about three months — and that his wife, Heidi, even warned he would “start bringing mullets back” if he didn’t take action soon.
At one point during his visit to the Salon à la Mode, Luther began crying and thanked Cruz for his support.
“When people reach out with true authenticity, it’s huge,” she said.
“It’s a nice gesture. His family actually called my boyfriend and prayed for him for 20 minutes while I was in jail,” Luther told the news outlet.
“To me, that’s not political … that’s just really nice people reaching out and making sure that our family is OK,” she said.
Luther was jailed Tuesday by Dallas County State District Judge Eric Moyé, but was sprung through Gov. Greg Abbott’s executive order retroactively eliminating jail time for violating the state’s coronavirus restrictions.
The judge sentenced Luther to seven days in the slammer with a fine of $1,000 per day — $500 per day for a contempt charge and $500 per day for each day her business was open.
On Wednesday, Cruz said on Twitter: “7 days in jail for cutting hair?? This is NUTS. And government officials don’t get to order citizens to apologize to them for daring to earn a living.”
Yeah, okay. Bold action, Ted. Really taking the bull by the horns. Or the nipples or wherever it is you take your bull by.
Some of us however remember that Ted Cruz did absolutely nothing to prevent this lockdown from happening. Despite his alleged libertarianism, he was completely silent when the windows went to the wall and the sweat dripped from our balls.
He’s completely silent now. He’s not out there calling for the lockdown to end. This is a guy who gives big speeches, and we’re not getting any “let my people go” from this freak. He thinks the salon lady should have been arrested, he just thinks the judge was an asshole for sentencing her to jail time, which is completely irrelevant in the scheme of things.
This is a photo-op with zero intrinsic meaning.
He’s not standing with the people protesting across the country or the 30+ million who have lost their jobs. He’s standing – sitting, in actuality, in his little faggot surrender mask – with one specific woman and saying a judge was an asshole to her.
Who cares, Ted?
In fact, he contributed early on to the hysteria, making a massive show of quarantining… himself… before the lockdown even began because he shook hands with someone who allegedly had coronavirus. That was also just a publicity stunt. Ted Cruz is a stunt politician.
Go look through Ted Cruz news stories from the last three months. He’s not stood up against any of this stuff. He’s instead done a series of stunts, and talked about China. A lot of China talk.
This week, he was out attacking China for being against gays.
Who is that supposed to represent? Maybe people don’t like the Chinese, but as much as the Republicans try to blame the Chinese for this disaster, the people are blaming those who caused the disaster: the government. You don’t have to be a genius to see that the government completely destroyed the country and that these actions had nothing to do with China.
China didn’t lock down America. China didn’t even lock down China.
Do people even know that Wuhan itself was never locked down? The Chinese military closed the roads and trains in and out of the city. They didn’t lock people in their houses. Locking people in their houses is an insane action. And as people are waking up to the fact that their entire lives have been destroyed, Ted Cruz is out there saying that Chinese people should be forced to have anal sex with men?
But hey – that’s not all he’s saying.

What are people supposed to do, Ted? You locked everyone in their houses. They lost their jobs. Everybody is going to lose their job. People are not going to have food to eat, they are not going to be able to pay rent. It was the government that did this to them.
And now you’re going to mock the fact that people think the government should be held responsible for this lunatic act?
If Republicans had all stood and fought this lockdown, maybe they would be in a position to say “we’re not giving government handouts.” But they didn’t fight this lockdown. They supported it.
You can quibble over the way this is going to be done, but the fact is, the government created a situation where we don’t have any money, and if we don’t buy food to eat, we will starve. It is the government’s responsibility to feed us.
This is not a Democrat/Republican issue. The lockdown didn’t discriminate. 15% of the population is already unemployed, according to official numbers. Official numbers are clearly wrong, as in every state in the country people are reporting that the website to report unemployment is broken. They can’t go to the office, because it’s locked down. That could be throwing the number off by a huge amount. It could be 20-25% unemployed already.
If businesses are ever allowed to open, they’re going to find that no one has any money to purchase their goods and services, and the number of unemployed is going to shoot up to at least 50%.
Those people are all going to starve to death if the government doesn’t feed them. I don’t know what else to say here. It’s just the reality. Republicans are hard workers and never wanted to go on welfare. But when the government takes away your job, you just don’t have any choice.
And the top stuntman Republican is coming out of the gates with, “haha, we’re not feeding you. We need that money for Israel and to do research into how to get the Chinese to do man-on-man anal.”
Conservatism is one of the things that is definitely dead with this lockdown. We’re all going to be on welfare.
The Republicans need to deal with this reality like adults.

We the people need to focus on these protests.
We need to build a bloc that is capable of making demands.
We do not have any other option.
They may or may not let us starve, but they are definitely going to do a lot of bad things to us if we let them get away with it. Having a movement that is capable of bringing out millions of people across the country is serious negotiating power.
Go to the protests. Get involved directly. We can’t let some snake come in and take this whole thing over.
