We weren’t kidding when we said that the national anthem protests by Negro players had ruined the NFL’s brand. These empty seats are proof of it.
The owner of the Baltimore Ravens admitted so in a recent letter he wrote to season ticket holders.
The Baltimore Ravens sent a letter this week to season-ticket holders, suite holders and sponsors about the number of no-shows at M&T Bank Stadium this season, citing a protest during the national anthem as one potential reason.
The letter, which was signed by team president Dick Cass, mentions that there have been empty seats in the past when the Ravens have struggled on the field. But this year is different, with Baltimore in the midst of a playoff race.
“The numbers [of no-shows] are higher, and it is noticeable,” Cass wrote in the 656-word letter. “There are a number of reasons for the no-shows, but surely the one-time protest in London has been a factor.”
The Chicago Bears also reported that they had 17,000 unused tickets. Undoubtedly, there were similar stories throughout the league just based on the stadium visuals.
Wrestling promoter Vince McMahon is even considering bringing back the XFL or some variation of it. Considering how much of a failure the XFL was, it is doubtful McMahon would be thinking about doing this if it wasn’t for the NFL’s problems.
The XFL was a fairly crazy thing though. One of the things I remembered about it was that nigger running back who used the phrase “He Hate Me” on his uniform.
We can surely expect more empty seats for the final week of the regular season. White Americans have tuned out of these circuses in large numbers. You can’t expect to disrespect the core fan base of your product and think good things will come of it. But who knows, maybe the NFL can reverse the trend by giving billions of dollars to the United Negro College Fund or something. I’m sure that will bring the people back!
