It’s sudden death syndrome!
He died randomly for no reason!
The mountain bike rider Rab Wardell has died at the age of 37, just days after competing at, and winning, the Scottish MTB XC Championships.
Scottish Cycling confirmed on Tuesday evening that Wardell had died in his sleep. Wardell had appeared on BBC Scotlandâs The Nine programme on Monday evening to talk about his victory on Sunday.
âWe are devastated to confirm the news that international mountain biker and former employee, Rab Wardell, has passed away today,â a statement from Scottish Cycling said.
âWe have very little information at this stage, but we send our love and support to his family, friends and all those in our community who knew him. We ask that you respect Rabâs familyâs privacy at this incredibly sad time.â
Wardellâs partner, the track cyclist Katie Archibald, tweeted on Wednesday that he had suffered a âcardiac arrestâ on Tuesday morning.
âI think youâve heard that Rab died yesterday morning,â wrote Archibald, âI still donât understand whatâs happened; if this is real; why heâd be taken now â so healthy and happy.
âHe went into cardiac arrest while we were lying in bed. I tried and tried, and the paramedics arrived within minutes, but his heart stopped and they couldnât bring him back.â
The Guardian calls this woman his “partner,” because saying “wife” is evil and will cause a holocaust
Wardell won the elite menâs title at Kirroughtree Forest in Dumfries & Galloway on Sunday, overcoming several punctures to win on the final lap. His victory was described as a âshow of incredible resilienceâ by British Cycling.
…
Wardell, who lived with Archibald in Glasgow, had been racing mountain bikes since he was a teenager, but only turned professional earlier this year.
Here’s the deal: the vax is killing people from heart attacks right now, so athletes are the ones getting the worst of it. Therefore: “if you’re vaxed, try to relax.”
I think it’s clear that in the future, the vaxed will start developing all kinds of strange cancers and neurological conditions and everything else (along with obviously being sterile). But right now, it’s primarily a heart thing.
those making tributes. I can't bear to talk about him in the past tense to say anything myself. You mean everything to me, Rab. I love you.
