I’m happy to announce that while things were looking dark there for a while, it now appears that Steve Scalise – who was shot by an SPLC-inspired madman – is going to pull through.

NPR:

Doctors treating wounded House Majority Whip Rep. Steve Scalise have upgraded his condition from “critical” to “serious.”

Scalise and three others were shot Wednesday morning at a baseball practice in Alexandria, Va.

The 51-year-old Republican congressman from Louisiana underwent another surgery on Saturday, the hospital treating him said, which was at least his third operation since being transported to the facility.

Scalise “continues to show signs of improvement,” MedStar Washington Hospital Center said in a statement Saturday evening.

“He is more responsive, and is speaking with his loved ones. The Scalise family greatly appreciates the outpouring of thoughts and prayers,” the hospital wrote, “on behalf of the Scalise family.”

The American Hospital Association defines “critical” condition as: “Vital signs are unstable and not within normal limits. Patient may be unconscious. Indicators are unfavorable.”

And defines “serious” as: “Vital signs may be unstable and not within normal limits. Patient is acutely ill. Indicators are questionable.”

On Friday, the hospital’s director of trauma, Dr. Jack Sava, called Scalise’s injury a “transpelvic gunshot wound” which had “fragmented, and caused significant damage to bones, internal organs and blood vessels.”

Some people have – surely very callously – suggested that he’d be better as a martyr. Even outside of the callousness of that particular sentiment, I don’t think it is even true. Scalise is one of our best guys in the House. Furthermore, pulling through shows resilience. The SPLC and the left as a whole would no doubt be celebrating “mission accomplished” if he had died, so proving that he is a fighter is worth more than martyrdom.

One thing we all have to understand is that this is just starting. Everyone on the right is a target, particularly those on the SPLC’s informal “hit list” of “hate figures” as Scalise was.

The shooter had a hit list on his person at the time he attacked Scalise.

Daily Caller:

James T. Hodgkinson, the shooter who opened fire on dozens of Republican congressmen and staffers at a baseball practice in Alexandria, Virginia, on Wednesday, had a list of Republican names in his pocket that was recovered by the FBI, The Daily Caller has learned.

The news that the shooter had a list of names suggests the shooting was not a random outburst, but instead appears to be a premeditated political assassination.

The list was written out on notepad paper and found in the shooter’s pocket, according to multiple sources with intimate knowledge of the situation, who spoke on condition of anonymity, citing the sensitivity of the investigation. The list of names included Alabama Rep. Mo Brooks, South Carolina Rep. Jeff Duncan and Arizona Rep. Trent Franks, TheDC has confirmed. Fox News reported after this story that Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan, Tennessee Rep. Scott DesJarlais and Virginia Rep. Morgan Griffith are also on the list. All six congressmen are members of the House Freedom Caucus, which contains the lower chamber’s most conservative members.

The SPLC attacked all of these individuals, save for Scott DesJarlais.

Note that I’m not going to include all of the mentions on their site, I just want to make it clear that his list coincided directly with their’s, indicating very strongly that his assassination agenda was based on their databases. It’s a shame he didn’t live to testify.

Mo Brooks: Here, here and here.

Jeff Duncan: Here.

Trent Franks: Here, here, here, here, here, here and here.

Jim Jordan: Here and here.

Morgan Griffith: Here.

The SPLC does not have an anti-violence disclaimer on their website, as I do here. I never spoke of the church Dylann Roof targeted, nor did I ever speak of any of the victims Roof assassinated.

Yet the SPLC has continually attempted to blame me for Dylann Roof’s actions.

Meanwhile, Scalise was the sitting Congressman most aggressively targeted by the SPLC, and all of the others on his hit list, save one individual, were also targets of the SPLC’s hate speech.

Of course, I do not think the SPLC should be held accountable legally for the attempted assassination – although they do believe I should be held legally accountable not simply for violent acts of my alleged readers, but for acts by my alleged readers which allegedly hurt people’s feelings.

Unlike the SPLC, I care about free speech, even for people that I hate. And yes, they do have a right to compile hate lists, even while we now know that people will turn these hate lists into hit lists. Hodgkinson was not the first to do this – in 2012, Floyd Lee Corkins, who shot up the Family Research Center, admitted to using the SPLC database to locate a target.

However, what I also believe is that the media should be taking note of the fact that the SPLC compiles hate lists which people are apparently turning into a hit lists.

At the very least, this should lead to private companies refusing to do business with a hate group that assists political assassins. Unlike the SPLC, I am vocally anti-violence, and yet I have been punished financially by private companies due to the SPLC harassing and threatening to defame companies that do business with me.

I am not naive though. I understand that no matter how much violence the SPLC indirectly incites, they will not be held accountable for it in the media, nor by private companies. At least not until the political climate in this countries changes drastically.
