In general, I’m neutral on the whole Catalonia thing.
But it irks me to see the whole independence movement being supported by Antifa and other liberal groups. Raises a huge red flag. Catalonia seems to be a liberal Secessionist movement.
In contrast, take a look at the Yellow Vests in France.
A lot of the protestors come from Brittany. You see this flag at almost all the Yellow Vest protests:
This is because regional pride can go in one of two directions.
Often times, the people with the greatest regional pride are also the biggest patriots of the region as a whole. They, seemingly paradoxically, maintain two identities that seem to contradict one another, but in actual fact complement one another.
Take Texas. They have their own distinct regional identity and see themselves as being somehow different from the rest of the United States. But at the same time, you have some of the fiercest American patriots coming out of Texas.
Sometimes they talk about seceding, sure. But for the most part, they’re content with being the most patriotic and exceptional partner in the union.
And then take California. There you have a completely different secessionist sentiment. Most Californians resent the rest of the United States for being boorish and lagging behind the most progressive state in the union.
There’s very little state pride. It is mainly just general resentment for the rest of America. You don’t have huge California state pride rallies.
In fact, this is the closest thing I got when googling for anything California and secession rally related.
But the secessionist sentiment there is the strongest.
Using these two different flavors of regionalism as a compare and contrast example – it’s easy to see how Catalonia more closely resembles the California template than the Texas one.
As a result, it’s hard to feel much sympathy for their faggotry.
RT:
Pro-independence activists in Catalonia are venting their anger at Madrid’s trial of the region’s provincial leaders. Baton-wielding police scuffled with some of the demonstrators as people also blocked roads and set tires ablaze.
The group behind the protest is called the Committees for the Defence of the Republic (CDRs) and has been involved in demonstrations against Spain’s central government for months. The goal of Thursday’s action is to ‘paralyze everything,’ as the group put it.
There’s a new right-wing party in government, Vox, that the Catalonians have to deal with.

Things could get complicated though if protestors start wearing Yellow Vests lol.

Normies are going to mess everything up and blur all the lines, mark my words.
The CDRs are rallying supporters to defend the jailed leaders of Catalonia, who are currently being tried for organizing an independence referendum in October 2017.
The central government accused them of sedition and rebellion as well as misappropriating public funds to hold the plebiscite. The defendants face lengthy jail terms of up to 25 years if convicted, but their supporters say they are prisoners of conscience.
Yeah, messy stuff.
I could see the Spanish Yellow Vests morph into an anti-Vox government movement, because so many normies feel safer protesting right-wing governments as opposed to Judeo-liberal ones like Macron’s regime.
This whole Catalonia situation only gets interesting if it dissolves into a Spanish Civil War II scenario, in which case, hell to the fucking ya.
LET’S DO THIS THING!
Where do I sign up to volunteer????
My body is ready.
