I’m doing this for the warfighters, not the warmongers.
The Left is afraid of disrupters and change agents. They are afraid of @realDonaldTrump—and me. So they smear w/ fake, anonymous sources & BS stories. They don’t want truth.

BREAKING: Pete Hegseth just did a quick press conference where lines out what Trump told him.
“That’s what Donald Trump asked me to do. Your job is to bring a war-fighting ethos back to The Pentagon.”
“Your job is to make sure it’s lethality, lethality, lethality! Anything else… pic.twitter.com/5k0zZ7OdLc

You would think that DeSantis would want more than being the chief of the Defense Department. That’s not really a level-up from being Governor of Florida.
I guess he has to do it to serve the Jews. But there is no way I would resign as Governor for this position if I were him.
It could just be a rumor, but frankly, most of the rumors about Trump’s talks are true because his staff structure is so constantly riddled with leakers.
Hegseth responded like he thought it was true.
Pete Hegseth, Donald Trump’s embattled nominee for secretary of defense, shared an impassioned post saying he will “never back down” amid a flurry of rumors that the president-elect is contemplating replacing him with Florida’s governor, Ron DeSantis.
“I’m doing this for the warfighters, not the warmongers. The Left is afraid of disrupters and change agents. They are afraid of [Donald Trump] – and me. So they smear w/ fake, anonymous sources & BS stories. They don’t want truth. Our warriors never back down, & neither will I,” Hegseth wrote on X on Wednesday morning.
The post went viral in the aftermath of reports on Tuesday night that Trump may swap out Hegseth with DeSantis. One source told NBC News that DeSantis is “very much in contention” while another said: “Trump talked to the governor and wants him to do it.” The Wall Street Journal and CBS News also reported the rumours, citing unnamed sources.
Despite the rumours, Hegseth, 44, told reporters on Wednesday morning that Trump encouraged him to “keep fighting”.
“I spoke to the president-elect this morning. He said, keep going, keep fighting,” he said. “Why would I back down? I’ve always been a fighter.”
Honestly, it’s probably better for me if it’s DeSantis, so you don’t have this illusion that this is some “outsider.”
Technically, Hegseth is an outsider. He’s literally a Fox News host. It’s just that he agrees with the insiders about wars.
In terms of complaints about Hegseth, they are more legitimate than complaints about Gaetz, because there is really a question as to how a 44-year-old who has only been a soldier and a talk show host could run the Pentagram.
The Defense Department employs tens of thousands of people, and it is difficult to imagine you can run that kind of structure if you don’t have experience managing large structures.
Hegseth is not qualified to be the CEO of Arby’s.
Not that it even really matters.
Fox News reporting this morning: I’m told that the report is legitimate.
While I’m the biggest DeSantis fan and he would make an incredible Defense Secretary, that’s not an excuse to drop Pete Hegseth over fabricated accusations.
Keep the pushing for Pete. pic.twitter.com/nJyNIKRiH1

Two things can be true:
1. The rumors are true and Ron DeSantis would make an excellent Defense Secretary.
2. The allegations against Pete Hegseth are BS and we should proceed with his nomination because he’s a great fit—and we retain America’s best Governor.
Few understand.

Senate Republicans are doing what they did to Gaetz right now and it seems like Trump will bend a knee to them, AGAIN.
If he replaces Hegseth with DeSantis, it sets terrible precedent for what other issues he’ll roll over on down the line.
Terrible, terrible, TERRIBLE! 🤬 pic.twitter.com/fl4kOqnCAx
