Gina Miller has launched a new campaign which could block Brexit as she demands Parliament is given a full vote on the outcome of EU negotiations.
Ms Miller, who led the High Court action that said Parliament must approve triggering Article 50, has a fresh crusade campaign2018.org.
The 51-year-old is demanding politicians have a full vote on Brexit negotiations.
Using the strapline “A good deal for Britain”, Ms Miller is leading the charge for the “the Brexit Bill be amended to allow Parliament a full vote on the outcome of the negotiations” rather than a simple yes or no to the deal.
Campaign2018’s open letter signed by Ms Miller and MPs including Nick Clegg and David Lammy, says: “The Government has promised to deliver “a good deal for Britain” in negotiating Brexit.
“This outcome is by no means guaranteed. Although a vote has now been promised to Parliament on the emerging settlement of the negotiations, the government is only offering a choice between a deal that may prove unsatisfactory as a means of safeguarding our country’s future, or withdrawal from the EU with no agreed relationship at all.
“A patriotic approach to the Brexit process would surely keep all options open in the national interest. We believe Parliament should amend the Article 50 notification Bill to ensure that it can determine what should be done if negotiations break down.
“Parliament’s vote on any emerging settlement must also permit, if the terms are not in the national interest, amendment or extension of the negotiations, and to allow the country the option of an alternative relationship with the EU, including the possibility of membership.”
The site has more than 7,000 supporters since Monday and comes Ms Miller branded MPs “weak” after the House of Commons voted the bill through unamended with a large majority of 372.
This is ridiculous.
The people voted. But these shills and infiltrators just keep trying to deny the people’s will.
They should be arrested under order of the queen, in my opinion.
That said, it clearly isn’t going to work. The establishment has already tested the waters and determined that it is impossible to stop Brexit.
