UK: Woman Sentenced to 5 Years in Jail for 10 False Rape Claims

Cathy Richardson, 35

Fake rape charges are a lot more common than you think. In fact, virtually all rape claims are fake.

Women actually going to prison for them, on the other hand, is very, very rare.

Metro:

A woman who made ten false rape claims against two men, triggering 60 lines of investigation, has been jailed.

Cathy Richardson was slammed by Essex Police for perverting the course of justice, wasting their time, and doing a ‘disservice’ to real victims of sexual crimes.

The 35-year-old made a series of allegations against the men between January and May 2021.

These led to dozens of investigations and one man being arrested and subjected to a forensic examination.

CCTV, phone data, and information from ANPR cameras later proved the alleged attacker was not in the area at the time Richardson claimed the assaults took place.

One of the men even agreed to have a GPS tracking tag fitted to his ankle, which would send an alarm to police if it was taken off.

Data from the tag was analysed and showed he was not in the area when an alleged attack supposedly happened.

Richardson was arrested and later charged with perverting the course of justice. She admitted 10 counts at Salisbury Crown Court and was sentenced to five years and one month in prison.

Detective Inspector James Holmes said: ‘Whenever an allegation of rape or sexual assault comes to us, our starting point is to believe the person making that claim. They are awful offences and have a massive impact on those who’ve experienced them, and we have specialist officers and staff who support them and investigate.

This is hopefully a trend.

These whores need to pay the price.
