Update on Trump’s Alzheimer’s: Airports in 1775, Air Force One Now “Aircraft One”

Remember 2016 Trump? I liked that Trump. He was sharp.

Daily Mail:

President Donald Trump mistakenly rewrote history during his speech at the Lincoln Memorial on Thursday, claiming that the army under George Washington was able to take the ‘airports.’

The accidental revisionist history lesson came during the middle of Trump’s ‘Salute to America’ speech for the Fourth of July and after hours of thunderstorms kept causing delays in Washington D.C.

‘In June of 1775, the Continental Congress created a uniform army out of the revolutionary forces outside of Boston and New York and named after the great George Washington, commander in chief,’ Trump said in his speech.

He was already starting off on an inaccurate front as the continental army was named after the Continental Congress and not Washington – who did serve as commander in chief.

Trump continued: ‘The continental Army suffered a bitter winter of Valley Forge, found glory across the waters of the Delaware and seized victory from Cornwallis at Yorktown.’

But his biggest snafu came when Trump combined three historical events: the Revolutionary War, the War of 1812 and when planes were invented in the 20th century.

Our Army manned the air, it rammed the ramparts, it took over airports, it did everything it had to do and at Ft. McHenry under the rocket’s red glare had nothing but victory,’ he said.

Trump appeared to conflate the continental army’s revolutionary campaign with the invention of the airplane by the Wright brothers in the early 1900s. The first airport didn’t exist until 1928, more than 150 years after the initial period Trump spoke about.

His next factual inaccuracy came when Trump suggested that the continental army had been the deciding factor in winning the battle at Fort McHenry.

The only problem with that statement is that Fort McHenry was the site of the Battle of Baltimore and the War of 1812 – decades after the continental was disbanded in 1783.

That’s not all.

Here’s another Alzheimering.

Daily Mail:

Donald Trump was savagely mocked on Twitter Thursday morning for tweeting ‘Aircraft One’ instead of ‘Air Force One’ while touting his elaborate Fourth of July military parade plans – forcing him to delete it and post a correction.

The president tweeted that people would come from far and wide for the celebration ‘culminating with large scale flyovers of the most modern and advanced aircraft anywhere in the World. Perhaps even Aircraft One will do a low & loud sprint over the crowd’.

The president’s aircraft is known as Air Force One when he’s on it, not Aircraft One.

Twitter users eviscerated the president for the slip-up, joking that Aircraft One is the unofficial name of Putin’s jet.

Trump then deleted his flub tweet and posted a new one, this time calling the aircraft Air Force One.

Two big ones in such a short amount of time…

His mental faculties are deteriorating quickly.

These Jews around him could well be poisoning him, confusing his brain so he can be more easily convinced to open the borders and wage more wars.

Or these Jews are just really lucky.

Either way, the man’s faculties are clearly not all on-board.

The rest of the Independence Day speech was okay.
