Here’s a new ad that is being spammed all across reddit:
“Huel” even sounds like “gruel.” (It’s allegedly a portmanteau of “human fuel.”)
For too many years the peasants have been allowed to eat meat.
Now, it’s back to the gruel.
Gruel is a food consisting of some type of cereal—such as ground oats, wheat, rye or rice—boiled in water or milk. It is a thinner version of porridge that may be more often drunk than eaten and may not need to be cooked. Historically, gruel has been a staple of the Western diet, especially for peasants. Gruel is often made from millet, hemp, barley, or, in hard times, from chestnut flour or even the less bitter acorns of some oaks. Gruel is also a colloquial expression for any watery or liquidy food of unknown character, e.g., pea soup.
And here’s from the Huel website:
It’s openly stated that this is an environmentalist agenda.
The peasants are really and truly excited about it.
You’d think that if this was really old-fashioned gruel, it’d be a lot healthier than a lot of stuff people eat these days. But it’s actually absolute garbage, as the price suggests. Their nutritional page shows that they’re using the cheapest possible ingredients and pumping it up as “filled with amino acids.”
There is something very funny and very dystopian about “It’s hip, it’s cool – it’s gruel! Save money by replacing meals with gruel!”
Have you ever noticed that the ruling elite are basically never fat? That celebrities in general tend not to get fat, unless they’re in the middle of a complete breakdown, usually involving alcoholism?
This is because they eat better than us. They eat prepared food, which contains a lot of high-quality, unprocessed meat.
Soon, the nutritional gap between us and them is going to get a lot wider.
