Sarah Goode was brutally murdered with multiple sharp, force injuries about her head and torso.

A Medford mother who was found dead in June after disappearing for several days was beaten and raped before she died, according to prosecutors.

Dante Taylor, 19, of Mastic, was arrested July 10 in the death of Sarah Goode by Suffolk County Police and United States Marshals. He was taken into custody in Florida on an unrelated arrest warrant, and transported to Suffolk County.

Taylor was charged with second-degree murder and arraigned Saturday morning in Central Islip. He is being held without bail.

Prosecutors said during the court hearing that Taylor raped Goode, then beat her; a piece of metal was found in her skull, and there was a large amount of blood and hair in her car.

His palm print also was found on her car and his semen was found on Goode, according to prosecutors, who said they also connected him through blood found at the scene.

Taylor was picked up in Florida, where he was staying with family, on a warrant from 2011. He is accused in that case of attempting to rape a woman at knife point. On Thursday, marshals flew from New York to Florida. On Friday, Taylor agreed to be flown back to New York.

Officials said they didn’t know about the other case until the Goode murder investigation, which is why Taylor is being charged with the 2011 attempted rape now.

More than 50 members of Goode’s family attended the hearing and were very emotional as the details of the murder were read. Taylor’s attorney spoke, and his mother was in court but didn’t speak.

Police did not say whether Taylor and Goode knew each other. Family members said they did not know how or whether Goode knew Taylor, but that they may have met at a recent party.
