You better start believing in lynchings – you’re in one.

We previously expressed our doubts that Loretta Lynch’s lynching was ever going to happen.

For once, it feels good to be wrong.

This thing is moving forward, baby!

Washington Times:

The Senate Judiciary Committee has opened a probe into former Attorney General Loretta Lynch’s efforts to shape the FBI’s investigation into 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, the committee’s chairman announced Friday.

In a letter to Ms. Lynch, the committee asks her to detail the depths of her involvement in the FBI’s investigation, including whether she ever assured Clinton confidantes that the probe wouldn’t “push too deeply into the matter.”

Fired FBI Director James B. Comey has said publicly that Ms. Lynch tried to shape the way he talked about the investigation into Mrs. Clinton’s emails, and he also hinted at other behavior “which I cannot talk about yet” that made him worried about Ms. Lynch’s ability to make impartial decisions.

tfw you get called out for meddling in your own investigation.

Comey said that Lynch asked him to use the same language that the Clinton campaign used to describe his investigation, effectively trying to turn the FBI into a PR organization for Clinton.

Talk about chutzpah.

Mr. Comey said that was one reason why he took it upon himself to buck Justice Department tradition and reveal his findings about Mrs. Clinton last year.

The probe into Ms. Lynch comes as the Judiciary Committee is already looking at President Trump’s firing of Mr. Comey.

Sen. Charles E. Grassley, chairman of the committee, said the investigation is bipartisan. The letter to Ms. Lynch is signed by ranking Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein and also by Sens. Lindsey Graham and Sheldon Whitehouse, the chairman and ranking member of the key investigative subcommittee.

The fact that the Democrats are also supporting it – the old witch herself – indicates that they may be planning to bury Clinton once and for all. It seems like they’ve seen her as a liability for a while now, and many top dem operatives are apparently very annoyed that she’s continuing to hog the spotlight after her defeat to Trump.

Just the fact that this probe was announced and has the support of the Democrats is a huge blow to the legitimacy of the Clinton camp; they wouldn’t have consented to it unless they were preparing to throw her under the bus.

Feinstein isn’t just signing the letter so she doesn’t look totally corrupt – she was actually on the shows talking about how she was troubled by Comey’s testimony about Lynch and actively pushing for this investigation. The ghost of Hillary Clinton is haunting the Democrat Party, thwarting their attempt at a rebranding. So in some sense, delegitimizing the Clinton campaign itself could be seen as beneficial by some Democrats.

Mr. Comey said the language suggested by Ms. Lynch was troublesome because it closely mirrored what the Clinton campaign was using. Despite his discomfort, Mr. Comey said, he agreed to Ms. Lynch’s language.

What the hell is wrong with this guy?

Comey seems like he’s always going like, “wow, this is totally unethical and everything, but I guess I’ll just roll with it, lol.”

If you go along with a criminal, aren’t you a criminal as well? An honest man would simply say “I’m afraid I can’t do that, it’s against the ethics standards of my position.” Instead, he just goes with the flow and then whines about it six months later.

When asked asked at the hearing why he went along with it, he said he decided “this isn’t the hill I want to die on” – some months later choosing to die on the “saying ‘I hope you can let this go’ is obstruction of justice because it’s like ‘who will rid me of this meddlesome priest'” hill.

In any case, things are definitely coming together for Trump. The momentum is shifting from the defense to the attack, from multiple different angles, all at once.

King of the fakeout.

We’re looking ahead at an interesting couple of weeks.

And months.

And years.
