19-Year-Old Mormon Suddenly Drops Dead for No Reason

Quite frankly, I don’t think Japan needed any more Mormon missionaries.

That said, we do have to ask: why would a 19-year-old boy drop dead for no reason?

The only possible explanation is global warming.

Daily Mirror:

A Mormon teenager suddenly collapsed on the floor and died in front of his family moments after finding out his “dream” missionary calling.

Liam Mildenstein, 19, had travelled with his family on vacation, when he received his missionary assignment for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

His family said he had hoped with all his heart that he would be assigned to Tokyo, Japan and, when he read the location announcing to his peers that he was going to go exactly there, he instantly fell to the floor and died about an hour later.

His death was completely unexplained, his family said, as they are waiting for an autopsy report. To give him the funeral he deserves, his close ones have started a fundraiser, which has already collected over $37,000 (£29,000) at the time of writing, surpassing its $30,000 (£23,000) goal.

Liam’s older brother Kaelten Mildenstein told the Salt Lake Tribune that “there were no signs of anything leading up to the day either.” He added, “It was such a shock that it feels unreal. It was truly an unexplainable tragedy.”

Kaelten said Liam was the “sweetest and most selfless person” he’s ever known. “He talked about nothing but his mission for the past year,” the brother added. “It was his dream since he was young to serve his mission in Tokyo, Japan.”

In the fundraiser, his family explains that Liam was “eagerly anticipating opening his mission call, hoping with all his heart it would be in Japan.” According to the family, he had driven with his immediate family from Miami, Florida to Provo, Utah, for vacation and was there when his call came.

“Gathered in front of all of his extended family and friends Liam read his call out loud, and when he read ‘Tokyo, Japan’ his big heart just gave out,” the family cried.

Describing the sudden and unexpected death, they added, “He fell backwards to the floor, and despite the best efforts of medical personnel, he never regained a pulse. Liam passed away about an hour after opening his call.”

Yes, this doesn’t really seem to be a sign that God is giving pro-Mormon signals.

But still.
