As a Result of Western Sanctions, Russia Will See Largest Gas Profits in Its History This Year

You done played yourself.

The United States is sanctioning itself and its allies in a moral panic.

Every serious analyst could see that this was going to benefit Russia in the long-run. But who would have thought they would get such immediate benefits?

RT:

Russia will have record revenues from natural gas sales this year due to high prices in the spot markets, Janis Kluge, a Eurasia-focused researcher at the German Science and Politics Foundation, told ntv.de news outlet.

Almost half of the Russian budget is based on transactions with oil and gas. The state earns enormously from production taxes and export duties. It receives the income in rubles, and the amount is determined by two factors: firstly, by energy prices on the world market and, secondly, by the exchange rate of the ruble,” Kluge says.

According to him, revenue from gas will soar this year, as many of Russia’s gas contracts are adjusting to the rising spot prices.

“The gas price on the spot markets has quintupled within the past year. That means Gazprom will have record revenues,” he said, while predicting that the cost will increase significantly within the next several months.

The situation is similar with oil, Kluge says, which profits from the ruble’s sanctions-induced drop.

Russia planned the national budget with a dollar-ruble exchange rate of 72, but now the ruble is around 85, much weaker, but with a view to energy exports this is an advantage. If we multiply the oil price by the ruble exchange rate, it shows that Moscow expected revenues of around 4,500 rubles per barrel of oil, but is getting much more, around 7,000 rubles.”

According to him, the profit from energy sales will be enough to cover the impact of Ukraine-related sanctions on the Russian economy, among other things, by halting inflation.

Meanwhile, Medvedev is calling for Putin to implement more sanctions of his own.

RT:

Amid Western sanctions, Russia might stop selling and buying food from “unfriendly countries,” former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has revealed.

Medvedev, who is currently the deputy chair of the country’s Security Council, published a list of suggestions related to Russia’s food security and exports on Telegram on Friday. The post notes that Russia is a “major grain producer, on a par with India and China,” and when it comes to wheat, the country has been the “largest exporter in recent years.”

He also pointed out that agro-industrial exports reached over $37 billion last year.

Medvedev unveiled plans to sell “food and crops only to our friends” in rubles and their respective national currencies. According to him, Russia has “a lot of friends” outside of Europe and North America.

Here’s the graph:

Most of that wheat goes to the deep third world, i.e., Africa, where they can’t afford any other form of calories.

I assume most of those Africans would prefer to continue getting wheat from Russia rather than have Charlie Kirk forcing them to do man-on-man anal against one another.

Because Ukraine isn’t going to be exporting much wheat this year, the price is going to go up.

You can say “well, Africa doesn’t really matter anyway” – in actual fact, it’s the single most resource rich of all of the continents.

A lot of those resources are used in the production of all modern electronics. China has already made serious inroads on the continent through diplomacy and industry, while the US was doing weird secret assassination missions for reasons no one really even understands and trying to force them to go full double anal.

Nigeria is the most developed and productive sub-Saharan country, and the US has been bullying and harassing them constantly. That’s an example of the situation that is emerging across the world: “would I rather be bullied and harassed and forced to do homosexual acts by America, or would I rather have good trade relations with reasonable Chinamen?”

Russia and China are winning very hard all over the place – all as a result of self-inflicted wounds by the West.

The sanctions on Russia are not trivial, of course. But what the West has done has driven down the quality of life for the average Westerner massively, while it is unlikely Russians are really going to feel much pain.

This is sort of like a mother killing her own child because she’s become convinced it is possessed by a demon.

The problem, as I’ve said continually, is that you simply cannot have a functioning system that is build on everyone lying about everything all the time. These systems are complicated, and when you base everything on lies, you have entire systems of people who don’t understand what is going on. There is no way to set up backchannels to explain to people what is actually going on. Most people wouldn’t even understand it anyway. And no one really seems to know what is going on.

All you have to focus on is this: no one was fired after the Afghan withdrawal, which was arguably the single most humiliating point in American history. These people said that the Kabul government would stand for “at least six months,” with the higher estimate being 12 months.

It took less than 72 hours.

Those same Defense and State Department officials are planning all of this Russia stuff. That’s all you have to know.

This collapse happens to every empire. Over the course of time, due to nepotism and general corruption, you end up with a ruling class that didn’t get that power based on merit. They make very bad decisions.

This isn’t more complicated than that. You are seeing a totally incompetent, unhinged, delusional ruling class destroying an empire that they did not build because they’ve been so insulated from challenge their entire lives that they believe they are invincible.
