Aubrey Garrett.

Nothing to see here, folks.

Move along.

Austin Texas:

Deceased: Andrea Faye Lindsey, a White female, born 02/16/1974

Arrested: Aubrey Quentin Garrett, an African-American male, 50 years of age

On December 15, 2017 at approximately 6:38 a.m., APD received multiple emergency calls about a man and woman involved in an escalating physical disturbance in the 5000 block of Lynnwood Street.

Once on scene, Officer Delvalle confronted the suspect, Aubrey Garrett, and ordered him to the ground. Garrett failed to comply with the directions and continued to take violent action against Lindsey. Delvalle fired his duty weapon, striking Garrett.

Garrett was then taken into custody following a brief struggle. Once Garrett had been detained, officers facilitated EMS care for both Lindsey and Garrett. Andrea Faye Lindsey succumbed to her wounds and was pronounced deceased at the scene at 7:09 a.m.

The Travis County Medical Examiner performed an autopsy on Lindsey on December 16, 2017 and determined her death had been caused by sharp, forced injuries. The case, ruled a homicide by the Medical Examiner, is being investigated by the APD Homicide Unit.
