Bloomberg Starting Another Gun Control Group

(I know Bloomberg being an ass is not exactly breaking news, but bear with me, I do have a valid point.)

Michael Bloomberg, the 13th richest man in the world with a net worth of $27 billion, has a whole lot of money and a lot more free time now that he’s no longer the mayor of New York.

Apparently he plans to spend some $50 million of that money forming a brand new gun control network according to AP:

Former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg plans to spend $50 million this year on a new group that will mix campaign contributions with field operations aimed at pulling 1 million gun-control supporters to the polls, he announced Wednesday, adding a new dimension to his long-running fight for tighter firearms regulation.

The new organization, Everytown for Gun Safety, plans to mobilize voters to back candidates and ballot measures supporting such causes as enhancing background checks for gun buyers, according to a news release. The group also plans to issue candidate questionnaires and scorecards and form a political action committee.

Putting a million gun-control supporters to the polls? So we’re openly admitting elections are a bought-and-paid-for affair? (See, I toldja I had at least one point.)

Fifty million dollars buys a lot of propaganda. Just imagine it. Oh, and Bloomberg’s new group will specifically target 15 states, including Texas (good luck on that Mr. B, by the way).

Also, he says he’s going straight to Heaven for all his hard work on…protecting everyone from their own free will things like guns, sugary sodas and smoking. Check out what he told The New York Times earlier this week — with a grin:

“If there is a God, when I get to heaven I’m not stopping to be interviewed. I am heading straight in. I have earned my place in heaven. It’s not even close.”

Bloomberg already spent at least $28 million toward his pet cause already: $14 million in federal campaign contributions to gun-control candidates including $2 million his Super PAC spent in the 2013 Democratic primary to secure his favorite candidate in a special congressional election in Chicago…even more through his Mayors Against Illegal Guns group which spent $12 million on just their ad campaign alone.

You remember it…the campaign included videos like this emotional Sandy Hook piece that included victim families:

…and this video dubbed “Demand a Plan” with all the Hollywood celebs who hypocritically make millions blowing people’s heads off on the Big Screen but will (somehow with a straight face) also opine about how guns are bad mmmkay:

…and thus, the ad got endlessly ridiculed by illustrating the point and throwing it back in their faces:

Can’t wait to see what sparkling new anti-gun propaganda the new group comes up with.

By the way, speaking of hypocrites, Bloomberg has no problem spending all his free time and cash espousing how We the People need to have our 2nd Amendment right “limited” (or, as he’d apparently prefer, nonexistent), but he’s somehow perfectly justified in buying out the NYPD officers he had as bodyguards while he was mayor and giving them all six-figure salaries to continue on as his personal protection entourage:

Mayor Bloomberg is taking his most trusted NYPD bodyguards with him to the private sector next year — to ensure they don’t spill any of his secrets, law-enforcement sources told The Post.

“He wants them to go with him because they’ve been with him so long and know him personally,” one source said. “So, he gives them plum jobs to keep their mouths shut.”

The move means the cops will all hit the jackpot — pocketing cushy pensions and new “six-figure salaries” to keep serving the outgoing mayor, whose eponymous business-media empire has made him the seventh-richest person in America.

Bloomberg’s new security team will comprise a current lieutenant and several detectives, all with more than 20 years on the force. They will file for retirement immediately after mayor-elect Bill de Blasio is sworn in on Jan. 1, sources said.

With public salaries of at least $120,000 each, they’ll all get pensions that amount to at least half that much — on top of their pay to keep working for Bloomberg, sources said. (source)

That’s right. While Bloomberg is paying top dollar to maintain no less than 17 armed bodyguards for himself, he’s willing to pay an additional $50 million to try and keep you, Mr. and Mrs. America, and your families from being able to protect yourself with your own right to bear arms.

He apparently missed the memo on that whole part of the Bill of Rights where it said “shall not be infringed”.
