Sara Erwin, 72, testified in Juvenile Court on Friday that a Black teen shot her, then made her crawl “like a dog on all fours” down a 20-foot hallway to the kitchen to fetch her purse.

A woman said she was shot and told to climb on all fours to get her purse.

Now, a Memphis teacher is fighting back against her accused attackers.

Two teens knocked on her door, asked to rake her leaves, then allegedly robbed and shot her on Nov. 27.

She faced them for the first time Friday.

72-year-old retired teacher Sara Erwin recounts the testimony she gave inside the courtroom.

“As I ran down the hallway just trying to escape the 15-year-old, he shot me and then the first thing he said was, ‘Get me your purse,'” she said.

Iran Curtis White
Iran Curtis White was the lookout.

“And then he made me crawl down the hall. He said get on all fours,” she continued.

She spent three weeks in The MED, and another three in rehab.

The bullet is still in her body.

The wheelchair isn’t permanent, but she doesn’t have the stamina to get around without it right now.

“She’s an incredibly strong woman,” said friend Elieene Ault.

Ault is a former student turned lifelong friend.

Christopher Bell
15-year-old Christopher Bell claims the robbery was his idea and that the gun went off accidentally in his hand.

“In her teaching career she worked with youth in the Y-team. So I find it ironic that it was youth that did this to her,” she said.

The judge said Erwin’s story sent chills up his spine.

15-year-old Christopher Bell and 17-year-old Iran White were then transferred to adult court at 201 Poplar.

“I’m very relieved. I’m worn out and tired, but I’m very relieved to be able to give my testimony. I really wanted to do this,” said Erwin.

At last check neither teen has been booked at 201 just yet.

Bonds were set at $75,000.

The case will go before a grand jury.
