The original Brexit vote took place in 2016 and it still hasn’t been acted on. The British political system has been feverishly trying to prevent the will of the people from being implemented.
The fiasco that is Brexit continues. The British Parliament just voted in favor of a measure to beg the European Union to delay their exit from the bloc.

British Prime Minister Theresa May worked Friday to pull off an against-the-odds rescue for her European Union divorce deal, after Parliament voted to postpone Brexit to avert a chaotic U.K. departure in two weeks.
May planned to spend the next few days trying to persuade opponents in her Conservative Party and its parliamentary allies to support the withdrawal agreement, which Parliament has resoundingly defeated twice. That left Britain facing a disruptive “no-deal” exit from the bloc on March 29, when a two-year countdown to the country’s departure runs out.
After months of political deadlock, Britain’s House of Commons voted 413-202 Thursday to ask the EU to delay the country’s exit.
The vote in itself won’t prevent Britain from crashing out of the bloc — an outcome that could mean major disruptions for businesses and people in both the U.K. and the 27 remaining EU countries.
By law, Britain will leave the EU on March 29 with or without a deal, unless it cancels Brexit or secures a delay from the EU.
It’s been almost three years since the British people voted to leave the EU and it still hasn’t been acted on. Even worse is how British politicians from all sides keep fighting like crazy to ensure that the will of the people is not executed. The fact that they just supported a measure begging the EU to delay their exit, is more proof of how ridiculous the situation has become.
British politicians and media talking heads are spreading fear that a no-deal Brexit would be a disaster for the country. The thing is, a no-deal Brexit is basically what the original Brexit vote was all about. The people did not vote to leave the EU with certain conditions. They voted in favor of the country leaving the EU unconditionally. All of the so-called Brexit deals that May pushed weren’t representative of what Brexit was actually supposed to be. And on top of that, there’s no possible way a reasonable deal with the EU can be negotiated considering the circumstances.
The only proper course of action is a no-deal Brexit on March 29th. Nigel Farage was on British television yesterday supporting a no-deal Brexit.
But all of the chicanery we are seeing with Brexit is just more proof of how ridiculous democracy is. What good is democracy when the people specifically vote for something and the entire political system does everything in its power to thwart the will of the people?
