SARS was a virus that only affects Asian people. It is believed to have been designed as a bioweapon.
Now, in the midst of the Hong Kong riots, it has mysteriously reappeared.
I guess the Mike Pompeo doctrine is “if our democracy riots don’t work, just release the bioweapons – we’ll accuse anyone who asks about it of being a conspiracy theorist.”
CNN:
A mysterious pneumonia outbreak that has struck dozens of people and put China on edge is from the same family of viruses as the deadly severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS), according to Chinese scientists.
They’ve found a new coronavirus in 15 of 57 patients with the illness in the central city of Wuhan, Hubei province saying it has been preliminarily identified as the pathogen for the outbreak, state broadcaster CCTV reported on Thursday.
The report said the whole genome sequence of the virus has been obtained, and a sample isolated from one of the patients showed “typical coronavirus appearance” under an electron microscope.
Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses that cause illnesses ranging from the common cold to SARS, according to the World Health Organization (WHO). Symptoms can range from fever and coughing to kidney failure, and in some cases lead to death. Some coronaviruses transmit easily from person to person, while others do not.
SARS infected more than 8,000 people and killed 774 in a pandemic that ripped through Asia and spread to 37 countries in 2002 and 2003. A coronavirus is also the culprit for deadly Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS), first identified in Saudi Arabia in 2012. MERS has since killed 851 people globally, according to the WHO.
The “SARS conspiracy theory,” like basically all “conspiracy theories” is obviously true.
You can gather that much from simply reading the reporting on it as a “conspiracy theory.”
The SARS conspiracy theory began to emerge during the severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) outbreak in China in the spring of 2003, when Sergei Kolesnikov, a Russian scientist and a member of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, first publicized his claim that the SARS coronavirus is a synthesis of measles and mumps. According to Kolesnikov, this combination cannot be formed in the natural world and thus the SARS virus must have been produced under laboratory conditions. Another Russian scientist, Nikolai Filatov, head of Moscow’s epidemiological services, had earlier commented that the SARS virus was probably man-made.
…
The widespread reporting of claims by Kolesnokov and Filatov caused controversy in many Chinese internet discussion boards and chat rooms. Many Chinese believed that the SARS virus could be a biological weapon manufactured by the United States, which perceived China’s rise as a potential threat to its dominance and superiority in the world. The failure to find the source of the SARS virus further convinced these people and many more that SARS was artificially synthesised and spread by some individuals and even governments. Circumstantial evidence suggests that the SARS virus crossed over to humans from Asian palm civets (“civet cats”), a type of animal that is often killed and eaten in Guangdong, where SARS was first discovered. However, civet cats are extensively used in food production without causing SARS in their handlers.
Supporters of the conspiracy theory suggest that SARS caused the most serious harm in mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore, regions where most Chinese reside, while the United States, Europe and Japan were not affected as much. However, the highest mortality from SARS outside of China occurred in Canada where 43 died.
Yes, in Canada.
The place in the world with the single largest number of per capita Chinese immigrants.
Though the full list of names is not available, it is believed that all of the “Canadians” who died from the virus were actually Chinese.
This is a gene-specific bioweapon, and it would be an extreme coincidence if it just all of a sudden got out of the laboratory exactly when the US State Department is attempting to put maximum pressure on China with their democracy riot program.
There is more or less a zero percent chance that this is not part of a plot against the Chinese.
