AN elderly businessman was found stabbed to death in his Kelvin Estate, Croydon home on Thursday morning.

Aron James Hammon (76) was found naked and with his hands tied in one of the bedrooms of his home. The flesh on one of his arms was ripped from his body. Two knives were found at the scene of the crime.

His son and daughter-in-law made the gruesome discovery when they went to check up on him, as they do every morning, before going to work. Hammon and his son apparently worked together in the same construction company belonging to the victim.

Police estimate the murder could have taken place at about 1am.

According to Const Sharon Tsotsotso, spokesperson for Sebenza SAPS, the police received a phone call this morning at about 6.40am regarding the body.

“When we got to the scene, we found the man dead in his bedroom. His hands had been tied up and he was naked. There was no forced entry into the house and it doesn’t look like anything was stolen. The only thing out of place was the TV, which was taken off the wall and left on the floor,” Tsotsotso said.

“We suspect the murder took place in the deceased’s bedroom and his body was then dragged into the visitor’s room.”

Not to worry, the forensic team feature some very high IQ apes that are probably related to the killers.

Blood stains where his body was dragged were visible on the floor. His firearm was also found in his bedroom.

Hammon lived alone with his five dogs and apparently never closed his doors at night so the dogs could come in and out as they pleased. His gate was also kept unlocked.

Recently, he had allowed one of his employees to live in the garage, as the employee lived far from home and his daily expenditure on transport to get to work was too high. The employee said he didn’t hear a sound coming from the house.

“I didn’t hear anything at all during the night, not even the dogs barking. I left the house as usual at about 5.50am, thinking the old man was still asleep, and was shocked when I got a phone call that he had been killed. So I quickly rushed back from work,” the tenant said.
