England: Street Preacher Arrested For Calling Homosexuality a Sin

Apparently, you can now be arrested for calling homosexuality a sin.

Tony Miano is an American evangelist who preached that homosexuality is a sin to people on the streets of London. He was swiftly arrested and questioned about his faith.

Miano is a former deputy sheriff and chaplain with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. He was charged in London with “using homophobic speech that could cause people anxiety, distress, alarm or insult.”

He had been preaching on a street corner while the Wimbledon Tennis Championships were happening in London. He is a part of a group called the Sports Fan Outreach International.

Miano was not strictly preaching about only homosexuality, but about immoral living in general. He simply used homosexuality as an example of an immoral lifestyle choice that contradicts what the Bible teaches. He said, “I never used any gay slurs. You would never hear me using slang or discriminatory language against homosexuals or any other group. That would be contrary to my faith.”

While he was preaching, he quoted one passage that talks about immorality with regards to sexuality — Thessalonians 4:1:2.

Miano said, “I talked about women addicted to romance novels, men addicted to pornography, people with lustful thoughts, heterosexual fornication and homosexuality. When I mentioned that the Bible was clear that homosexuality is a sin, a lady walked by and she glared at me and hurled the f-bomb.”
