Campaigning in Minnesota was a miscalculation.
I don’t think this was stolen – I think Swedes just really, really love Somalians.
Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar., is projected to win reelection to her second term representing Minnesota in the House Tuesday.
Omar defeated Republican challenger Lacy Johnson, according to a projection by the Associated Press.
Omar was up more than 148,000 votes over Johnson as of 10:30 p.m. ET with 98% of the vote in the deeply blue 5th district.
Omar, one of the 4 so-called “Squad” members, has been a frequent target of President Trump.
Omar was first elected during a blue wave in the 2018 midterms.
Omar, Omar, Omar!
Trump thought that the people would vote for him because they would be voting against Omar. Far from that – he had no chance, because they loved Omar so much.
It’s an easy miscalculation to make, as no normal person can fathom the mind of a Swede. What’s more, I think the record will show that thinking they could win Minnesota was the only miscalculation that Trump’s team made.
There is probably some commentary to be made on the fact that the coronavirus mask turns Omar’s hijab into a full niqab.
I will have to think that through when I’ve had some sleep and this election is decided.
