At least five people have been killed and a suspect found dead after Britain’s worst mass shooting in over a decade took place in Plymouth, southwest England, police have said.
Officers and ambulance staff were called to respond to a “serious firearms incident” in Biddick Drive, in the Keyham area of Plymouth, around 6:10 p.m. local time.
Two women and two men were found dead at the scene, according to police. Another woman was treated for gunshot wounds at the scene and died a short time later in hospital.
Police named the shooter as 22-year-old Jake Davison on Friday. At a press conference, Devon and Cornwall Police Chief Constable Shaun Sawyer described a shooting spree that spread across multiple locations in front of terrorized residents in the seaside city.
Davison first visited an address on Biddick Drive in Keyham, where he killed a woman who was known to him, Sawyer said.
He then left the house and entered Biddick Drive, shooting and killing a young girl, as well as a male relative of the child.
“This was a truly shocking event, and was witnessed by members of the public,” Sawyer said. Further along the road he shot two local residents, who are in hospital but do not have life-threatening injuries. Sawyer added that Davison then entered local parkland, killed another man and shot a woman who later died in hospital, before turning the gun on himself.
Sawyer said that eyewitnesses described the gun used as a pump-action shotgun. Police have recovered the weapon and are analyzing it, but are not yet describing the kind of gun used.
They’re saying he’s an incel.

I’m not sure he actually even identified as an incel.
In his final video blog, on July 28, the suspected killer spends 11 minutes ranting about how his life has hit a dead end, as he struggles to attract women or lose weight.
“I’m beaten down and defeated by f****** life, that drive I once had, that’s gone,” he says.
At the climax of his final video blog, Davison claims he likes to think “I’m a Terminator”.
He continues: “The whole premise of the Terminator movies is that you know everything is rigged against you, there’s no hope for humanity, you know, we’re on the brink of extinction, these machines are unstoppable killing machines that can’t be beaten, can’t be outsmarted, but yet humanity still tries to fight to the end.
“I know it’s a movie, but, you know, I like to think sometimes I’m a Terminator or something and despite reaching almost total system failure, he keeps trying to accomplish his mission.”
Davison earlier claims that “most people would have been completely, utterly broken if they had lived my f****** life”.
Despite insisting he was not trying to stage a “pity party”, Davison goes on to claim the only way his life would be worse would be if he had suffered sexually abuse.
“For the most part, it’s just been me against the world, it’s just been me fighting an uphill battle with a big f****** rock on my back, while I’m seeing motherf****** that don’t deserve half of anything, they’re getting a free road to the top,” he says.
I guess it sounds incel-adjacent, at least.
If he is an incel – that’s whatever. Not some big deal.
I mean, they will call for whatever – banning men from complaining about women, I guess.
But being an incel is not political, and no one can really explain why exactly we’ve created a social order in which the majority of men can’t even have sex at all, and even those who can have no chance of forming a lasting marriage.
Frankly, that is something that governments and media outlets should be forced to explain.
Anyway – there was a bit of a lag, I guess, but the string of large-scale mental breakdowns I predicted would result from the virus hoax measures has now officially begun in earnest.
You can expect someone to randomly shoot or stab you pretty much any time now.
