Italy: 2 Football Players Collapse on the Field in Separate Matches, 1 Dead

Mattia Giani, dead at 26 because of… a bad turn

This always happened.

If you don’t remember it happening before 2021, you are a dangerous theorist and must be banned from the internet.

A 26-year-old minor-league soccer player who collapsed on Sunday during a match near Florence has died, the mayor of the town he was playing for said on Facebook on Monday.

Mattia Giani had a bad turn while in action for Castelfiorentino against Lanciotto Campi in the Eccellenza championship match at the Campi Bisenzio municipal stadium.

He was rushed to Florence’s Careggi hospital.

Castelfiorentino Mayor Alessio Falorni said Monday that he had passed away there.

Also from ANSA:

AS Roma have said that Evan Ndicka is on the mend after the Ivory Coast defender suffered a bad turn in their visit to Udinese on Sunday, causing the Serie A match to be abandoned in the 71st minute.

The 24-year-old dropped to the ground holding his chest and was rushed to hospital.

“Evan is feeling better and is in good spirits,” Roma said in a statement after the rest of the squad went to visit him.

“He will remain in the hospital for further observations”.

It’s very normal.

The healthiest people have always had the most heart attacks.

Ndicka survived his bad turn
