It looks like Los Angeles is finally making moves to narrow the performance gap which exists between White and Asians and all other races.
I’m sure this is going to completely work.
Students in the Los Angeles Unified School District will be required for the first time to take ethnic studies classes as part of an effort to encourage stronger cultural understanding.
The idea, brought forward by Board of Education members Bennett Kayser, George McKenna and Steve Zimmer, is aimed at narrowing the academic gap between minority students and their white and Asian peers by pushing students to achieve through the exploration of different perspectives in literature, history and social justice. More than 90 languages are spoken in the district.
As you can see, Asians are not classified as minorities any more because despite confusion due to what the word actually means literally, the real meaning of the word “minorities” is “people who fail because they are oppressed.”
No one is quite sure why, but the White man decided to stop oppressing Asians while continuing to oppress Blacks and Latinos. This is the obvious reason that Asians do well academically while Blacks and Latinos continue to fail. That might seem like a bizarre explanation, but we are sure that it must be true because there is no other possible explanation.
