Media Continues to Use Bizarre Language to Describe Ukrainian Attacks on Nuclear Power Plant

We’ve been covering this story from the angle of media criticism: the media is going back and forth between outright claiming that Russia is attacking their own power plant, to simply saying “the power plant is being shelled” without saying that the Ukraine is doing it.

Notably, it was primarily British media that was outright claiming that Russia was attacking itself for unclear reasons. The claim originates from the Zelensky government. But Zelensky seems to have made these statements for domestic consumption. He’s shut down all opposition media, so he can just tell his own people whatever he wants. To an international audience, however, the idea that Russia has spent weeks shelling its own nuclear power plant simply makes no sense.

Why would they be doing that? To what end?

Antony Blinken, the Jew of State, has directly addressed the issue indirectly, saying that Russia should surrender the power plant so the attacks stop, without ever saying that the attacks were being carried out by the Ukraine using US weapons.

Now, Reuters is suggesting again that Russia is attacking itself for no reason without directly saying it, quoting Ukraine people propaganda as if it makes some kind of sense.

Reuters:

Moscow and Kyiv traded fresh accusations on Saturday of shelling around the Russian-occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant in Ukraine, which has been a focus of international concern that fighting in the area could trigger a disaster.

Zaporizhzhia, Europe’s largest nuclear power plant, has been controlled by Russian forces since early March, soon after the invasion of Ukraine by Russia. Ukrainian staff continue to operate it and in recent weeks the two sides have traded blame for shelling near the plant.

Ukraine’s state nuclear company Energoatom energy agency said Russian troops again shelled the grounds of the plant complex in the last 24 hours.

“The damage is currently being ascertained,” Energoatom wrote in a statement on Telegram.

By who?

If you’re using satellites, then you might notice that your own people are the ones lobbing missiles at a nuclear reactor.

Moscow’s defence ministry accused Ukrainian forces of shelling the plant complex three times in the last 24 hours.

Reuters could not verify the battlefield report.

Ok.

“A total of 17 shells were fired, four of which hit the roof of Special Building No. 1, where 168 assemblies of U.S. WestingHouse nuclear fuel are stored,” the Russian defence ministry said in a statement.

It said 10 shells exploded near a dry storage facility for spent nuclear fuel and three more near a building that houses fresh nuclear fuel storage. It said the radiation situation at the plant remained normal.

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Friday the situation at Zaporizhzhia remained “very risky” after two of its six reactors were reconnected to the grid following shelling that caused the nuclear plant to be disconnected for the first time in its history.

Why don’t you stop firing missiles at it, Jew?

There is Russian military all over your country – there are a lot of places you can fire those missiles. Firing them at random apartment complexes and malls in Donetsk seems to make more sense than trying to trigger a nuclear meltdown.

Energoatom said on Friday evening that both of the plant’s two functioning reactors had been reconnected to the grid and were again supplying electricity after they were fully disconnected on Thursday.

The U.N.’s nuclear watchdog, the International Atomic Energy Agency, wants to visit the plant in the south of the country and agency chief Rafael Grossi said on Thursday that it was “very, very close” to being able to send officials there.

Well, it’s controlled by Russia, and they’re not the ones assassinating journalists and inspectors, so I don’t really see what the hold-up is. Russia has invited you to come watch the Ukrainians shelling this nuclear plant.

Energoatom’s statement on Saturday said its staff at the plant had come under “increased pressure” ahead of the likely visit.

The (Russians), preparing for the IAEA’s visit, have increased pressure on the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant’s personnel- in order to hush up their testimonies about the crimes of the occupiers at the station and using it as a military base,” it said.

The foreign ministers of the G7 countries have previously urged Russia to hand the plant back to Ukraine. Earlier this month U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said military equipment and personnel should be withdrawn from the plant and called for efforts to ensure it is not the target of military operations.

It’s just a threat – “give us back the nuclear plant – by letting us back across the river – or we’re going to cause a meltdown.”

I don’t know if they’re really going to cause a meltdown. Honestly, I have no idea what the purpose of this charade is. It’s frankly very goofy.

Is this tweet satirical?

The Russians are torturing and murdering the power plant staff?

What?

Why?

I guess I can agree they’re heroes, continuing to work in a power plant under US military assault. I think that’s heroic.

Even in the Ukraine people media, they switch back and forth between saying Russia is attacking the plant and saying they have to attack it because there is Russian military there.

Again, there is Russian military all over the place. I doubt they are firing from the power plant, because we just haven’t seen Russia do weird things like that, whereas everything the Ukraine does is weird. But even if they were firing from there – they’re firing from all over.

Any normal person would tell Ukrainians to stop shelling a nuclear power plant, but people don’t know that is happening because of this bizarre language the media is using.
