Mexican Turns Himself in After Fatally Shooting Two Men (At Least One was White)

It sure seems like the more Mexicans we bring into the US, the more the US begins to resemble Mexico.

Of course, it might just be a complete coincidence.

KEZI:

Two men are dead and another is in custody after officials responded to a shooting in Winston early Sunday morning.

According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, dispatchers received reports of gunfire in a residence on the 200 block of Ford Street just before 2 a.m. Another caller reported finding two men bleeding on the ground.

When officers with the Winston Police Department arrived, the two victims were found with gunshot wounds and died at the scene.

Officials have identified the victims as 24-year-old Nicholas Lehman-Helmke of Winson and 31-year-old Benny Stallings of Roseburg. Both were known to DeSantiago.

The case was taken over by DCSO.

Sergeant Brad O’Dell with the Sheriff’s Office said the Major Crimes Unit consists of detectives from OSP, DCSO, and Roseburg Police.

“The major crimes unit concept is not a unique concept it is utilized widely throughout the state. We’re lucky here that we have some great resources on investigative teams,” said O’Dell.

According to officials, DeSantiago also drove past a residence on Peach Street after leaving the home and honked his horn before firing through a window and leaving.

Officials said just after 2:30 a.m., 34-year-old Winston resident Savino DeSantiago called dispatch wishing to turn himself in. Officers ultimately arrested him and charged him with murder. He was taken to the Douglas County Jail.
