Imagine getting a pit bull and expecting it not to use the opportunity of your seizure to strike.
A Massachusetts woman died Friday after being mauled by her family dog while having a seizure, authorities said.
Police got a call around 5:20 p.m. from the daughter of the victim, who said her mother, Melissa Astacio, 44, was having a seizure in their home when the dog decided to attack.
When police and paramedics arrived, the 8-year-old pit bull was reportedly still attacking Astacio. Law enforcement personnel had to use a stun gun on the canine so paramedics could attempt to save the victim, according to the Bristol District Attorney’s Office.
Following the attack, Astacio, who Quinn’s office said had a history of seizures, was rushed to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence where she was pronounced dead at 6:20 p.m.
That’s a very funny story.
But this one was funny also.
CNN:
Texas law enforcement officials are searching for a suspect accused of shooting a barber over his 13-year-old son’s haircut, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded Saturday to the barber shop on Franz Road in Katy, near Houston, the sheriff’s office said on Twitter, where a male employee was apparently shot around 5 p.m. by a customer. The customer fled the scene, the sheriff’s office said.
Harris County Det. Wallace Wyatt told CNN affiliate KPRC that the argument was over the haircut given to the suspect’s 13-year-old son.
“He went home, came back. They fixed the haircut for free and then that’s when the altercation occurred,” Wyatt told KPRC.
“That is one of the worst ones I’ve heard,” he added, “especially with your son being here, witnessing what you’re doing.”
I wonder if a black guy ever mauled a woman to death while she was having a seizure, or if a pit bull ever killed a barber because of his son’s haircut?
I wouldn’t be surprised.
One thing I do know is this: pit bulls and black people make our society a much more fun and interesting place.
