Protestor Released on $60K Bond After Shooting Peaceful Man in Head – Derek Chauvin Held on $1M Bond

This guy was just trying to inch his way through some rioter solidarity protestors, and one of them randomly shot him in the head.

This is more brutal and unprovoked than anything that the police do to the blacks.

Controversy continues to rattle the small southern Colorado city of Alamosa after police say a local defense attorney, who was protesting, shot a driver in the head Thursday evening.

The Alamosa Police Department charged attorney James Marshall, 27, with attempted murder and assault after investigators said he shot Danny Pruitt, 49, of Canon City.

The surveillance video time-stamped at 5:55 p.m. Thursday shows the incident in its entirety during a protest in downtown Alamosa. The video shows about a dozen protestors were lining Main Street with signs in hand.

A black truck pulls up and as the driver goes through the crosswalk. That’s when a protestor reaches in their pocket and pulls out what police say is a gun.The surveillance video shows the protestor aim the object at the passenger side window of the truck.

Within 11 seconds of nearing the crosswalk, the trucks comes to a halt in the middle of the intersection. Protestors immediately scatter and cars continue to drive around the stopped truck for about two and a half minutes. Video then shows the truck moving through the intersection.

Alamosa Police said they found the driver, Danny Pruitt, alert in his truck about a half-mile away from the scene of the shooting. Shortly after, officers arrested James Marshall on a slew of charges.

On Friday afternoon, some protestors told KRDO the driver plowed through the crowd, but Alamosa police said there is no evidence to support those claims.

“We’ve heard the same thing,” Capt. Joey Spangler said. “But again, it’s an ongoing investigation. I can say we have no evidence to show that he was driving into or through the protestors.”

Pruitt is receiving treatment in Colorado Springs hospital. A GoFundMe created by his family indicates he is on life support. The fundraiser page also said Pruitt is a single father veteran who lives in Canon City. His family tells KRDO they’re asking for prayers in his recovery.

Marshall is out of jail on a $60,000 bond. KRDO has reached out to Marshall for comment but has not yet heard back.

ABC 7:

A judge on Monday kept bail at $1 million for a Minneapolis police officer charged with second-degree murder in George Floyd’s death.

Derek Chauvin, 44, said almost nothing during an 11-minute hearing in which he appeared before Hennepin County Judge Jeannice M. Reding on closed-circuit television from the state’s maximum-security prison in Oak Park Heights.

A judge raised Chauvin’s unconditional bond from $500,000 to $1 million when a second-degree murder charge was added on Wednesday. Monday’s hearing was a chance for arguments over the higher bail. Chauvin’s attorney, Eric Nelson, did not contest the increased bail and didn’t address the substance of the charges, which also include third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter.

Honestly, I’m surprised they even gave him bail.

He should probably flee the country across the Southern border and then start a YouTube channel teaching people self-defense.
