Putin Orders the Military to Prepare for War

Tsar Putin has put the Russian military forces near the Ukraine on high alert, and ordered combat readiness tests for the troops.

This involves a series of drills throughout Western and Central Russia says Sergey Shoigu, Russia’s Defense Minister.  They will take place between February 26 and March 3.

The Defense Minister says Putin ordered the exercises to “test combat readiness of troops in dealing with crisis situations that threaten the military security of the country, as well as with antiterrorist, sanitary and epidemiological, or technogenic situations.”  He claims that they are unrelated to the situation in the Ukraine.

Western media is of course linking the drills to the escalating World War triggering situation following the Jewish coup in the former Soviet Republic of the Ukraine, and it is difficult for me personally not to see the connection.  Though the Kremlin claims these exercises were planned far in advance of the coup, and the timing is merely a coincidence.

A bunch of press photos of tanks and missiles rolling through Russia leave the distinct impression of a show of force at the very least, if not a positioning for an invasion.
