Russian Spy Chief Says Poland Planning to Take Back Land in Ukraine Using Military

Well, here’s a pretty weird allegation.

RT:

Intelligence obtained by Russia suggests that Poland and the US are working on a plan for Warsaw to regain control of Ukrainian areas that Warsaw considers as “historically belonging” to it, Moscow’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) chief Sergey Naryshkin has said.

According to the alleged plan, the first stage of this “reunification” will see Polish “peacekeepers” deployed in western Ukraine under the pretext of “protection from Russian aggression,” Naryshkin outlined in a statement on Thursday.

The details of the operation are now being discussed between Warsaw and the US government, he claimed, adding that the operation is designed to be executed without a NATO mandate, and only volunteer states taking part.

Warsaw has so far been unable to find any other nations to join its cause, he added. But the Polish authorities are unconcerned by this, as they want to minimize the number of “unnecessary witnesses” to their actions, Naryshkin said.

Despite their publicly declared goal of countering Moscow, the Polish troops would be deployed in parts of Ukraine where they’ll have almost no chance of engaging Russian forces, he explained.

According to Russian data, the actual “tactical objective” of the Polish troops will be taking control of strategic facilities from the Ukrainian National Guard. Poland’s intelligence services are apparently now searching for “reliable” members of the Kiev elite, who would be willing to form a pro-Warsaw counterbalance to Ukrainian nationalists.

The Polish government assumes that entrenching its forces in western Ukraine would, with a high probability, lead to the split of the country, he claimed. In this case, control over the territories where the peacekeepers are set to be deployed would remain in the hands of Warsaw, the spy chief continued.

The plan appears to be an attempt, he pointed out, to repeat an historic deal that was struck after World War I and saw Western nations accept Warsaw’s right to occupy, in the first instance, parts of Ukraine to protect its people from the “Bolshevik threat” and, later, to include those areas into the Polish state.

This almost sounds like Russian propaganda to be used against Ukrainians who believe that Poland is their greatest ally. However, as I’ve pointed out many times: thus far, we’ve yet to catch the Russian government purposefully distributing false information about the Ukrainian situation. Frankly, they appear to believe that it is better to keep to the truth and be reliable about that.

Of course, “we have intelligence leading us to believe…” is the lightest form of lie you can tell, if you do want to tell a lie. So maybe it is a lie.

It sounds crazy, but you know what also sounds crazy? Poland’s fanatical support for “Ukraine neo-Nazism.”

We keep hearing these people talking about Stepan Bandera, who was ostensibly “an ally of Nazi Germany.” While that is technically true, sort of, he was actually imprisoned by Nazi Germany, and only let out at the end of the war.

He was sent to a concentration camp in 1942 and only let out in September of 1944. The Nazis told him to fight Russia, and push the Eastern Front. Instead, he just started slaughtering Poles in already occupied territory. (He also actually started attacking Germans directly, for the record – so “ally of Nazi Germany” is not really especially correct. “Fanatical anti-Polish individual who the Nazis let out of prison in Hail Mary play at the end of the war who ended up actually fighting against them” would be a better description.)

From Wikipedia:

In late 1942, when Bandera was in a German concentration camp, his organization, the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists, was involved in a massacre of Poles in Volhynia and, in early 1944, ethnic cleansing also spread to Eastern Galicia. It is estimated that more than 35,000 and up to 60,000 Poles, mostly women and children along with unarmed men, were killed during the spring and summer campaign of 1943 in Volhynia, and up to 100,000 if other regions, such as Eastern Galicia, are included.

Despite the central role played by Bandera’s followers in the massacre of Poles in western Ukraine, Bandera himself was interned in a German concentration camp when the concrete decision to massacre the Poles was made and when the Poles were killed.

He was literally imprisoned by Germany because he was planning to slaughter Poles. Germans imprisoned this man to protect the Poles. More than really even a “Ukrainian nationalist” or an easily categorized political figure, he was basically just an unhinged psycho who really hated Poles for various personal reasons. (He grew up in Lviv, then run by Poles who discriminated aggressively against Ukrainians).

Bandera was not really even against the Jews.

Also from his Wiki:

In 1941–1942 while Bandera was cooperating with the Germans, OUN members did take part in anti-Jewish actions. German police at 1941 reported that “fanatic” Bandera followers, organised in small groups were “extraordinarily active” against Jews and communists.

However, when Bandera was in conflict with the Germans, the UPA under his authority sheltered Jews,[85] and included some Jewish fighters and medical personnel. In the official organ of the OUN-B’s leadership, instructions to OUN groups urged those groups to “liquidate the manifestations of harmful foreign influence, particularly the German racist concepts and practices.” Several Jews took part in Bandera’s underground movement, including one of Bandera’s close associates Richard Yary who was also married to a Jewish woman. Another notable Jewish UPA member was Leyba-Itzik “Valeriy” Dombrovsky.

By 1942, Nazi officials had concluded that Ukrainian nationalists were largely indifferent to Jews and were willing to both help them or kill them if either better served the nationalist cause. A report, dated 30 March 1942, sent to the Gestapo in Berlin, claimed that “the Bandera movement provided forged passports not only for its own members but also for Jews.” The false papers were most likely supplied to Jewish doctors or skilled workers who could be useful for the movement.

To be clear: Germans put this guy in a camp in part because he was literally helping the Jews.

This whole “neo-Nazi” terminology is obviously questionable given these facts, but A30B does have swastika tattoos and flags and so on. However: you can also understand why Jews aren’t particularly bothered by using Bandera as an ideological figurehead.

You’ve all seen the clips of top Ukrainian officials (including Jews) praising Bandera, or photographed with pictures of him above their desks.

So it’s not just A30B that is being organized around this Bandera thing, but the entire concept of Ukrainian statehood that is being organized around this mass-murdering anti-Polish guy from the 1940s.

When you understand that: it does sort of make sense that Poles would have other motives in this whole thing that is going on. Sure: someone can claim that this entire Bandera obsession in the Ukraine is just an expedient ideology supported by the CIA in order to organize Ukrainians into violent struggle with Russia. I’m sure the CIA agents who organized ISIS were not devoted Wahabbists. That said, you still don’t have a motive for Poland being so insanely pro-Ukraine unless they are getting something out of this. Being allowed to go into Western Ukraine as peace-keepers in a partitioned Ukraine is definitely something they would be getting out of this.

Here’s a thought: I wonder why Germany won’t take this opportunity to align with Russia to invade and partition Poland?

Is it because Germany is a puppet state run by the US and managed by a vicious Legion of Grannies?
