A double farm murder took place during a farm attack on Thursday 13 December 2018, in Bonnievale, Western Cape Province. The farm attack was tweeted by Ian Cameron of AfriForum. Two elderly victims were both shot dead in their bed whilst sleeping. The attackers fled with their vehicle.
Piet Steyn and his wife Elmien Steyn, who are both in their seventies, were shot on the farm Zandfontein. Police have processed the scene. There is no other information available at this stage and the timeline is not clear, it was reported that the attack took place between Wednesday 12 and the early hours of Thursday 13 December 2018.
