Standing Up Against Cultural Appropriation

There has been a lot of talk lately of cultural appropriation, and how this is totally not okay.

Some singer who I’m unfamiliar with recently posted a picture of himself on Twitter wearing an Indian headdress.

Whoa. So not okay.
Whoa. So not okay.

Along with this, the Arab cow Randa Jarrar recently did a piece for Slate magazine condemning the horrible horror of White belly dancers, who have stolen the culture of whoever invented that.

She writes of how Whites have exploited the Arabians to sexually pleasure themselves:

Google the term “belly dance” and the first images the search engine offers are of white women in flowing, diaphanous skirts, playing at brownness. How did this become acceptable?

The term “belly dance” itself is a Western one. In Arabic, this kind of dance is called Raqs Sharqi, or Eastern dance. Belly dance, as it is known and practiced in the West, has its roots in, and a long history of, white appropriation of Eastern dance. As early as the 1890s in the U.S., white “side-show sheikhs” managed dance troupes of white women, who performed belly dance at world’s fairs (fun trivia: Mark Twain made a short film of a belly dancer at the 1893 fair). Many white women who presently practice belly dance are continuing this century-old tradition of appropriation, whether they are willing to view their practice this way or not.

But, here’s the thing. Arab women are not vessels for white women to pour themselves and lose themselves in; we are not bangles or eyeliner or tiny bells on hips. We are human beings. This dance form is originally ours, and does not exist so that white women can have a better sense of community; can gain a deeper sense of sisterhood with each other; can reclaim their bodies; can celebrate their sexualities; can perform for the female gaze. Just because a white woman doesn’t profit from her performance doesn’t mean she’s not appropriating a culture. And, ultimately, the question is this: Why does a white woman’s sisterhood, her self-reclamation, her celebration, have to happen on Arab women’s backs?

Randa Jarrar: Inshallah we never have to see her belly dance.
Randa Jarrar: Inshallah we never have to see her belly dance.

This is all of course, totally horrible.  One of the worst things ever since 600 quadragabillion Jews were gassed to death by Adolf Hitler.

One thing that is not being mentioned, however, is the equally horrible, terrible, disgusting, evil, devilish and immoral practice of the appropriation of White culture by people from other cultures.  We Whites, as a global minority under constant oppression must stand up and together cry out in pain at the appropriation of our sacred heritage by foreign peoples.

Herein, I will give some examples of this totally not okay practice of non-Whites pillaging our culture for their own sexual purposes.

Black Men Driving Cars

Sickening.
Sickening.  Get off our backs, blackie.

It has become extremely popular in recent times for blacks, particularly black men, to drive cars.

The modern automobile was invented by Karl Benz, and is a traditional part of White European culture.  Blacks appropriating this from us for their own fetishistic purposes goes against basic morality.

Karl Benz: He didn't invent cars so that blacks could use them to mock our heritage.
Karl Benz: He didn’t invent cars so that blacks could use them to mock our heritage and pleasure themselves.

Even the word “whip” is a black term used to mock European culture.  The proper name is “car” or “automobile.”

Arabs Using Aircraft

Arabians have, without any care or respect for European feelings, taken to using airplanes to get themselves from place to place.  This is a clear spitting in the eye of the Wright Brothers, who invented airplanes as a means for White Europeans to express their desire to move from one place to another.

This is not okay.
This is not okay, Muslims.  We are not vessels of your pleasure.

Aircraft are not simply a costume – they are an expression of European culture, and Arabs have no right to use them for their own purposes.

Muslims Using Rocket Launchers

The rocket-launcher was invented by Robert H. Goddard, a White European who never intended for this device to be used for the fetishistic purposes of the Muslims.

Not. Okay.
Not. Okay.
Bazookas were not invented for the pleasure of Muslims.
Bazookas were not invented for the sexual pleasure of Muslims.

Mexicans Wearing Tennis Shoes

Many Mexicans now wear tennis shoes, mockingly adopting White culture rather than sticking to their own.

It's not cute and it's not okay. Tennis shoes are not a costume.
It’s not cute and it’s not okay. Tennis shoes are not a costume.
Samuel Plimsoll did not spend his life inventing tennis shoes so that Mexicans could use them to mock us.
Samuel Plimsoll did not spend his life inventing tennis shoes so that Mexicans could use them to mock us.

Get off our backs, Mexico, and stop thinking you can use tennis shoes to express yourselves.

Hindu Indians Using Electricity

Many in India, to the total disrespect of European man, have begun using electricity to fulfill their fantasies and outlet their sexuality or whatever.

Electric lines in India. They mock us. Not okay.
Electric lines in India. They mock us. Not okay.
Benjamin Franklin didn't research current so that you could build your sexuality on White peoples' backs, India.

Conclusion

Multiculturalism can only work successfully if it is on terms of mutual respect for each culture.  In order for this to happen, we Whites must certainly stop wearing headdresses and belly dancing, but the non-Whites must also stop stealing our precious cultural treasures.
