Switzerland: Vegans Lose Referendum to Ban Factory Farming

Bacon never loses in a fair fight.

Euronews:

Voters in Switzerland have rejected a referendum motion that would have put an end to factory farming in the country.

Almost two-thirds of those who cast a ballot opposed the initiative, which would have outlawed intensive farming methods.

Farmers’ unions had opposed the move, arguing that animal rights are already protected by existing restrictions, which limit the quantities of livestock any single farm can keep. Citizens had also expressed concerns over the impact on food prices.

In a separate referendum, the Swiss did agree to raise the retirement age for women from 64 to 65.

How is it even possible that the only alternatives we’re presented to toxic factory farming is eating soy slop, which is even worse?

Imagine if we put 10% of what we spend on finding new and innovative ways to mutilate children’s genitals into developing a healthy, high-productivity form of agriculture that can be reproduced on a large scale.

60 years ago, people thought we’d be colonizing Mars and traveling in flying cars by now, and we can’t even figure out how to grow food that doesn’t make the people who eat it sick for a reasonable price.

We are literally living in hell!
