Suicide levels for teenage girls are at the highest levels ever in history. All the headlines read “highest level in 40 years,” but in actual fact, 40 years ago is just when they started keeping track of suicide rates. These are the highest levels in human history.
Some right-wing fanatical anti-Semitic misogynists will be like, “you see, this is where ‘women’s liberation’ has led you.”
HAHAHA!

You just fear the sexual empowerment of women because it makes you feel small.
Nothing makes the patriarchy more afraid than seeing a woman in her sexual prime with a hunchback working at a desk in a bank. This is what will finally break the back of a system based on tens of thousands of years of oppression.
Then when they see the same empowered womyn at the bar with Tyrone, they’re even more afraid: their patriarchy is finally coming down at last.
What these numbers actually indicate is that we need MORE women’s liberation.
Instead of losing their virginity at 14, they need to start losing it at 11.
Instead of 10 partners by the time they leave high school, they need to have 30.
Instead of being taught that it is their duty to compete with men in the workplace, they need to be taught that it is their duty to overpower and rule men.
Instead of looking forward to marriage at 34, they need to be told they can never get married and have children.
Ultimate liberation is coming for women, and when it comes, they will be happier than you can ever even begin to imagine.

Between 2007 and 2015, suicide rates for teenage boys and young men increased by over 30 percent and doubled among girls.
…The government has tracked numbers on suicide rates since 1975. In 1975, the suicide rate among females aged 15 to 19 sat at 2.9 per 100,000 before it increased to 3.7 per 100,000 in 1990. It then fell to 2.4 per 100,000 in 2007 before peaking at 5.1 per 100,000 in 2015.
For young men, the suicide rate declined from 18.1 per 100,000 in 1990 to 10.8 per 100,000 in 2007 before reaching 14.2 per 100,000 in 2015.
According to the CDC, 5,900 kids and adults aged 10 to 24 died by suicide in 2015.
We just need to keep pushing, here, people.
