The Greatest Man Who Ever Lived?

Vladimir Zelensky has been named “Person [sic] of the Year” by TIME Magazine.

Obviously, no one who isn’t waiting to have their teeth fixed reads TIME, and they haven’t for over a decade, but the “Man of the Year” issue remains a cultural institution.

Zelensky is the very small Jew who is running a corrupt Eastern European shithole into the ground. He is fighting a war against Russia and attempting to drag the whole world into it. Ostensibly, the purpose of the war is to defend a small piece of land in the east of the Ukraine’s 1991 borders, claiming he has an eternal right to control that territory and to ethnically cleanse the Russians who live there.

Typically, the award doesn’t necessarily go to the “best person of the year” but the person who had the biggest impact on the year. From that perspective, giving the award to Zelensky is fair enough. But of course, people interpret the cover as a celebration of the man (and I’m sure the article inside, which no one will ever read, does celebrate him).

It is certainly understandable why people would get very upset that the media is celebrating a serial killer attempting to destroy the entire earth.
