Tucson Court Finds Black KANG Guilty of Shooting His White Wife to Death

A Tucson man was found guilty for first-degree murder in the death of his wife in 2016.

Back on Nov. 21, 2016, Tucson Police Department arrested King Yates after his wife, 24-year-old Cassandra Yates was pronounced dead with obvious signs of gunshot trauma at an apartment complex at 7671 E. Tanque Verde Road the night prior. King Yates was originally charged for first-degree murder, misconduct involving weapons – prohibited possessor and second-degree murder.

After a trial where Yates represented himself in Pima County Superior Court, a jury convicted the Tucson man of first-degree murder.

A judge allowed Yates to represent himself after he underwent a competency exam to determine if he was competent enough to stand trial and represent himself. According to officials, Yates fired two attorneys defending him in this case prior to the competency exam.

Yates’ sentence date for this case was scheduled for March 23.
